Training/course: Excel 2007/2010 Intermediate

Course Description

You have worked with Excel for a while but now you are keen to work faster and more efficiently with the program. You want to get the more out of some of Excel's more diverse functions.

During our Excel Intermediate training course you will fine tune your skills and build upon the ground covered in the foundation training. You will learn to work faster and will become acquainted with some more advanced techniques, but you will not be immersed completely in these more advanced functions.

Do not worry If you are not sure that you have mastered all the foundation skills. Our trainer will go through this with you and first cover any gaps that may exist from the foundation level.

Course Content:

  • Absolute and relative cell-changes
  • Structure
  • Graphical representation of data
  • Incorporation of and use of Macro's
  • Making Templates
  • Search and search functions (vertically and horizontally)
  • Statistical functions (average, maximum, minimum and quantity)
  • Scientific functions (rounding-up etc.)
  • Special Formula functions
  • Special Pivot tables

Course Prerequisites

Excel Foundation course or equivalent. You will already be acquainted with Excel's SUM and AVERAGE functions.

Comments

This Excel training course is given in tutorial form in a class of MS Office students. This means that students will work on their own course and at their own pace under the careful and diligent guidance of a tutor, rather than using a classical lesson with the teacher presenting to everyone at the same time. Only MS Office subjects are dealt with during the Office tutorial class. The tutor will help explain the theory and show you how to work through the course. He or she will be on hand to help you with any problems, give you practical tips and answer your questions. This class-based tutorial system has been tried and tested by us for many years and proves to be a satisfying and rewarding teaching method.

This system has many advantages. Not only does it allow you to learn at your own pace but it also gives you the opportunity to bring with you practical applications for Excel from your own workplace. It is better if you can send these to Learnit before the course by email. Otherwise you can bring it with you on a USB or cd-rom.

All MS Office training courses are given using recent versions of MS Office. Most versions are as good as identical to each other, but the teacher will explain exactly any differences between versions. If you want to take the course using a particular version, you can bring this to our attention on the registration form.
