AI literacy for organisations (AI Act)

The AI Act is here, and Article 4 has a direct impact on your organisation. If you use ChatGPT, Copilot, Gemini or any other AI tool, you fall under the legislation and must be able to demonstrate that your employees are sufficiently AI-literate. This course prepares you for that.

Description

In this course you will learn what the European AI Act requires of your organisation and how to comply with article 4. Since February 2025, every organisation that offers or uses AI systems has been obliged to ensure its staff are sufficiently AI-literate. From August 2026, this obligation will be actively enforced.

You start with the legislation in plain English. What exactly does Article 4 say, who does it apply to and which AI systems count? Using demos with ChatGPT and Copilot, you see how AI plays out in recognisable work situations, and what users need to know and be able to do.

The afternoon focuses on risks and frameworks. You work on issues around privacy, bias, hallucinations and confidentiality, and you learn how to draw up clear frameworks for responsible use within your own organisation. We also cover the documentation obligation: how do you demonstrate that you comply with the law?

You round off the day with a personal action plan for your own role and team. Afterwards you receive a workbook containing frameworks, sample texts and checklists, as well as a certificate of attendance that meets the documentation obligation set out in the AI Act. The course is delivered in a classroom setting or online, with a maximum of 12 participants per group.

Result

After the course you know exactly what the AI Act requires of your organisation and how to give substance to it. You can explain what AI literacy involves, which systems fall under the law and what level of knowledge is needed for each role.

Specifically, by the end you will be able to:

• explain article 4 of the AI Act clearly to colleagues and directors
• assess which AI systems within your organisation fall under the law
• recognise the main risks, such as privacy, bias and hallucinations
• draw up frameworks and guidelines for the responsible use of ChatGPT, Copilot and other AI
• meet the documentation requirement and demonstrate that you comply with article 4
• determine the level of AI literacy required for each role
• carry out an action plan for your own role or team in the weeks following the course

Target audience

If you work in an organisation where ChatGPT, Copilot or other AI systems are used, you share responsibility for compliance with the AI Act. This course fully prepares you for that. No prior legal or technical knowledge is required.

The course is intended for:

• HR leaders responsible for training and the AI literacy of staff
• AI coordinators and data leads who draw up frameworks for responsible use
• Data Protection Officers who safeguard the privacy aspect of AI

• directors and board members with ultimate responsibility for AI policy

Teaching method

You spend a full day under the guidance of an experienced trainer who has mastered both the legal and the practical side of AI. We alternate clear explanation with demos, discussions and concrete exercises, so that you know what the AI Act says and how to apply it in your organisation.

In the morning you build a solid foundation. Article 4 is explained in plain language, you see which AI systems count and you look at practical demos of various AI applications. In the afternoon you delve into the risks, frameworks and documentation obligation. You finish with a personal action plan that fits your role and organisation.

The group has a maximum of 12 participants, which leaves room for questions from your own practice. The course can be followed in a classroom setting or online. You receive a workbook with frameworks, sample texts and checklists, as well as a certificate of attendance that meets the documentation obligation set out in the AI Act.

Prior knowledge

You do not need any prior legal or technical knowledge. It helps if you have a broad idea of which AI tools are used or being considered within your organisation, so you can link the frameworks and the action plan directly to your own practice.

Comments

You will receive a workbook with frameworks, sample texts and checklists that you can use straight away in your own organisation. The course can be followed in the classroom or online via Microsoft Teams.

The training is given in Dutch as standard. The trainer has a good command of English. English-language course material can be used. With a minimum enrolment of 3 participants, the training can also be given entirely in English.
