Want to set up, steer and complete projects successfully? During the Project Management course you get a grip on planning, budget and team roles. You learn to work through all the phases of a project and to avoid the pitfalls, so that you bring every project to a successful conclusion with confidence.
Description
In this Project Management course you learn how to set up and guide a project from start to finish using the working in projects method. You go through all the phases of a project, from definition through to completion, and you get a grip on the structure needed to achieve a predetermined goal within time and budget.
You work on skills to keep an overview of and control over the planning, allocate tasks and take the lead. You also pay attention to the roles of everyone involved, to communication within the project team and to finances and risk management. Common pitfalls and setbacks are covered, so that you know how to anticipate them.
The course alternates theory with practical cases and discussions in which you link what you have learned directly to your own working situation. The course material includes a syllabus with step-by-step plans, checklists and overviews that you can continue to use alongside your work.

Result
After this course you will know how to set up and manage a project from start to finish. You will work through all the project phases independently, from definition to completion, and keep control of planning, budget and risks.
You will recognise the various roles within a project and know how to manage and communicate with the staff involved. You will be able to draw up a project plan, schedule and risk analysis, and you will spot pitfalls in time.
With the practical checklists and overviews from the course material you can get started straight away in your own working situation as a project leader or project team member.
Target audience
This course is particularly suitable for (aspiring) project leaders and project managers, and for employees who carry out project management tasks within profit and non-profit organisations.
You don't need to obtain a PRINCE2 or IPMA certificate: this course is for people who lead or work on projects in practice and want to do that better. If you do want a certificate, take a look at IPMA-D.
Teaching method
During this course you alternate theory with discussions about its application in your own working situation and short practical cases. This way you apply the theory covered directly to recognisable situations. The link back to your own practice is central, because that gives you the grounding to put what you have learned to use straight away in your own environment.
The course material contains many practical overviews and checklists that you can keep using alongside your day-to-day work.
Prior knowledge
No specific prior knowledge is required for this course. Do you already have experience with projects or do you work in a team that works on a project basis? Then you will recognise many situations more quickly, but that is certainly not necessary.

The course is given in Dutch as standard. The trainer speaks English. English-language course materials can be used. If at least 3 participants register, the course can also be given entirely in English.

Can I cancel free of charge?
Yes. Up to four weeks before the first day of the course you can cancel free of charge, without giving a reason. You then receive a credit note or, if you have already paid, a refund. If you cancel later, you pay part of the course fee: 25% between four and two weeks before the start, 75% in the two weeks before it and 100% in the final week. Moving to another start date is free of charge up to two weeks before the start, after that 50%. Sending a colleague in your place is always possible. Read the cancellation terms.
