What exactly does an online course involve?

An online course is a course given live in a digital classroom, together with a trainer and fellow participants. So this is not e-learning! The programme Learnit uses for this is Zoom.

To learn more about how this programme works and how you would use it as a participant, we have a instruction video for participants .

What does online training look like?

Besides the instruction video mentioned above, we would also like to show you in other ways how online training at Learnit works: in addition to the instruction video for participants, we also have a webinar about the Zoom software. We have also created an animation video about how Zoom works for participants at Learnit.

What you need

→ Internet, audio and a webcam.

→ Preferably a laptop or computer; if there is no other option, taking part via a phone is also possible.

Frequently asked questions

→ This is not compulsory, but it is recommended. If you cannot or do not wish to download the programme, we advise you to join the course via Google Chrome.

→ Zoom and other similar online video chat programmes have had bad press in the past because of privacy issues. Learnit naturally keeps a close eye on this. To prevent any problems as far as possible, we make sure that all our online training rooms are encrypted and that only people who have registered may enter the room. In addition, we only ask you for the most essential data: the name that appears on screen and the email address to which the invitation for the meeting is sent. In this way we aim to safeguard your privacy. If you have any further questions or doubts about privacy, you can reach us at communicatie@learnit.nl.

→ We recommend sitting with your screen facing a light source (a window or a lamp), so that the light shines on your face rather than coming from behind you. Do make sure the light is not too bright. For the audio, we recommend using a headset with a microphone, as this sound is often a good deal better than the sound coming from a laptop.

→ We have tested extensively which software would suit us best. We assessed a number of programmes on connection strength, features and ease of use. As far as we are concerned, Zoom came out best by far.
