More and more decisions about AI end up on your desk, while the tools and risks change at breakneck speed. In this course you get a grip on AI from a management perspective, without having to get to grips with the technology yourself. You leave with a concrete AI strategy on a single A4 that suits your organisation.
In this course you learn, as a manager or team leader, to steer AI strategically within your organisation. You work on realistic scenarios and apply what you have learned directly to your own practice, without having to work with the tools yourself.
You start with the basics: where does your organisation stand now and what ambition fits with that. You get to know the four strategy levels (exploring, experimenting, integrating, transforming) and build a business case that puts ROI, costs and risks clearly on the table. After that you weigh up whether to build, buy or work with a partner.
In the afternoon you go deeper into tool selection at a high level, AI governance, the AI Act and your duty of care as a manager. You work on KPIs for AI projects, learn how to cover risks and look at change and employee acceptance. You finish with your own AI strategy on a single A4: a concrete document you can put on the table tomorrow.
Afterwards you receive a workbook with scenarios and business case templates, the one-page strategy format and a reference document on the AI Act and governance. The course is delivered in the classroom or online, with a maximum of 8 participants per group.
After this course you will steer AI within your organisation with purpose. You will know where you stand, what level of ambition fits with that and how to translate that ambition into concrete choices, frameworks and KPIs.
Specifically, by the end you will be able to:
Do you make strategic choices around AI without having to work with the tools yourself? Then this course is right for you. You do not need any technical prior knowledge, but you should be involved in AI decisions within your organisation.
The course is intended for:
You spend a full day working strategically under the guidance of an experienced trainer with practical experience in AI and management. We alternate short explanations with working sessions: you are given a framework, apply it to realistic scenarios and to your own organisation, and discuss your choices with the group.
In the morning you build up the strategic framework, from maturity scan to business case and build-vs-buy. In the afternoon you go deeper into governance, the AI Act, KPIs, risks and change. You close the day with your own AI strategy on a single A4, so you take home both knowledge and a concrete document.
The group has a maximum of 8 participants, so there is room for your situation, questions and dilemmas. The course can be followed in the classroom or online. You receive a workbook with scenarios, business case templates and a reference guide on the AI Act and governance.
You do not need any technical prior knowledge of AI. It is useful, however, if you are involved in decisions about AI in your organisation and bring along a situation from your own practice to work on. Experience with management issues, business cases or governance helps you translate the material quickly to your own context.
Bring along a real-life situation or AI question and you can work on your own strategy during the session. Not sure whether the course fits your role? Feel free to contact us.
Would you like to organise this training for a whole group or several groups? This can be cost-effective. For example, we can tailor the content entirely to your organisation, and training a whole group is also cheaper.
Are you looking at large numbers of participants or a complete academy? That involves a great deal. Consider planning and communication, for example, or identifying and agreeing the objectives and content of the training. Or differences in level, feedback mechanisms and safeguarding. Fortunately, Learnit has extensive experience in this field (more than 25 years) and we are happy to help you through this process.
The training is given in Dutch as standard. The trainer has a good command of English. English-language course material can be used. With a minimum enrolment of 3 participants, the training can also be given entirely in English.
At Learnit you will always find a course that takes you further. From (technical) IT skills to communication or personal leadership. You can also choose the training format that suits you best: a classroom course, a tailor-made course at your own office, an online course or an e-learning. We have the right course and the right format for everyone. Because learning in the way that suits you best delivers the best results.

New opportunities arise when you get moving. Stay sharp. Keep taking new steps. We encourage you to take the plunge and really go for it.
Discover something new. Build on your strengths. And choose your own path. We help you grow with training courses and learning formats that genuinely suit you.
We always think in terms of possibilities and win-win. And every day we work on new solutions for tomorrow. By offering training courses that leave you well prepared for the future.
We don't make empty promises. What we do offer is quality, knowledge and experience. A broad range of courses, made possible by our inspired staff and trainers.
We listen to what matters to you. To what you need. Because that is where our solution, our tailored approach, begins. Understanding each other properly and communicating clearly: that is what we believe in.
Taking a training course at Learnit means learning together. Together with your experienced trainer, together with your course group or together with your colleagues. And whether you take the training at home, at your office or at one of our training locations, we are always available to help you. To share our knowledge with you in a way that is genuinely useful to you. Getting further together through personal attention and understanding each other well; that is what we believe in.
Learning theory from a book that you can then hardly use in your work? Not at Learnit! Whichever training you take with us, you can put it to use at your workplace straight away. Because of the unique learning objectives you set together with the trainer at the start of the training. Because of the alternation between theory and (interactive) practical assignments. And by bringing the challenges you face in your daily work along to the training.
No suitable start date? Send us a date request. Then we will look together at how we can still meet your training needs.

You do not need any technical prior knowledge of AI. We do expect you to be involved in AI decisions within your organisation and to bring a practical situation of your own. Experience with management issues, business cases or governance helps you translate the material to your own context quickly.
The course is aimed at directors, board members, line managers, team leaders, HR leaders, project and programme managers and management team members. In short: anyone making strategic choices about AI without needing to work with the tools themselves. Entrepreneurs who want to set the course for AI in their business are equally welcome.
You work on AI maturity, the four strategy levels, a business case with ROI, the choice between build, buy or partner, tool selection at a high level, AI governance, the AI Act and your duty of care, KPIs, risks and change. You finish with your own AI strategy on a single A4.
Yes, the course can be attended in a classroom on location or online via Microsoft Teams. In the online version you work in the same small group and with the same working sessions as on location. You choose the delivery format that suits you best when you book.
Yes, on completion you will receive a certificate of attendance from Learnit. This shows that you have attended the course and covered the topics addressed at a strategic level.
Short theoretical frameworks alternate with working sessions in which you apply the material directly to your own organisation. You discuss your choices and dilemmas with the group and the trainer. You receive a workbook with templates and checklists, and work throughout the session on your own AI strategy on a single A4.
Online courses often teach you how to work with AI tools. This course focuses explicitly on strategy and governance: which direction suits your organisation, how to build the business case and how to set up governance. You get direct feedback on your own situation and leave with a concrete document you can discuss with your management team.
You leave with your own AI strategy on a single page, including your chosen strategy level, a high-level business case, governance frameworks and KPIs. This allows you to start the conversation with your management team, board or steering group straight away. You use the workbook with formats to develop and test your plans further.
Our tool courses (such as ChatGPT or Microsoft Copilot) teach you how to work effectively with AI yourself. This management course looks one level higher: which tools suit which organisation, how to set boundaries for their use and how to substantiate the investment. A combination often works well: first the strategic framework, then a deeper dive into the tool you are going to roll out.
Yes. HR leaders will recognise themselves above all in the themes around change, employee acceptance and the impact of AI on work and roles. For the public sector, the AI Act, duty of care and governance frameworks are particularly relevant. You apply the working sessions to your own context, so you get value out of it whether you work in business, healthcare or government.
Ethics runs as a common thread through the course. With governance you look at what you do and do not want to allow, with the AI Act at your duty of care as a manager, and with change at how you take your staff along honestly. You practise with real-life dilemmas, such as transparency towards customers, the use of employee data and the boundary between efficiency and humanity.
