Can the course be delivered in English?
Yes. For in-company courses we deliver the training in the language of your choice, Dutch or English. Mention it in your request.
Do participants receive a certificate?

How does this classroom Turnover Tax course differ from self-study using the Belastingdienst's manual?
Self-study via the Belastingdienst website gives you the rules, but not the considerations. In the classroom VAT course you work with a trainer who knows the practice and you can put forward your own cases. You learn not only how the margin scheme, the small businesses scheme (KOR), exemptions and the reverse charge work, but also when they are advantageous for your company. Topics that are difficult to grasp from a manual are also covered. Such as the Tax Control Framework, the OSS return for EU sales and filing a supplementary return. These are covered step by step. You receive direct feedback on your questions, something self-study or a general e-learning does not offer. Suitable if you are responsible for the VAT return and want certainty about your choices.
How do I know whether this Turnover Tax course suits me, or is it more practical to call in a tax adviser?
That depends on how often you deal with VAT issues. This classroom course is intended for people who are themselves responsible for the VAT return: financial administrators, staff at accountancy firms, SME entrepreneurs and self-employed professionals. You will learn to determine for yourself which VAT rate applies, which VAT is deductible, how to file a supplementary return and when schemes such as the KOR or the margin scheme apply. The OSS return for EU sales is also covered. Bringing in a tax adviser makes more sense for one-off, complex transactions (for example a restructuring or international services where the place of supply is unclear). For recurring returns and day-to-day VAT decisions, building up the knowledge yourself through this course is usually cheaper and quicker than seeking external advice every time.
What will I learn in this course that I cannot get from a webinar or YouTube video about VAT?
A webinar or YouTube video usually gives you an overview of the main points: what VAT is, which rates apply and how to file a return. In this classroom course we go deeper and you work with your own cases. You practise with the margin scheme, the small businesses scheme (KOR), reverse-charge schemes and the OSS return for cross-border sales within the EU. You get immediate answers to questions about your specific situation, something a video cannot offer. We also discuss how to file a supplementary return and what to do in the event of a sample audit by the Dutch Tax Administration. The difference therefore lies in applying it to your own practice, current legislation and regulations, and interaction with an experienced trainer and fellow participants.
