In brief. Planner Premium is a 2-day classroom course. You can take it in Amsterdam, Utrecht, The Hague and Eindhoven, in a group of no more than 8 participants. The price is € 1100,- excl. Within Microsoft 365, Planner Premium is a fully fledged way of planning and managing projects. In this course you learn how to approach this in a structured and workable way, together with your team.
Description
Within Microsoft 365, Planner Premium has grown into a serious alternative to Project Online. You get more structure, more coherence and a direct link with the tools your team already works in. At the same time, that raises questions: how do you set up a project logically, how do you keep track of dependencies and when do you opt for baselines?
During this course you set up a central project environment, structure plans clearly and work towards a realistic schedule with milestones, dependencies and management information. Each step is linked directly to your own project or a practice case.
Afterwards, you will be able to use Planner Premium independently to plan projects, track progress and make targeted adjustments. You will also know how to position the tool alongside Planner (basic) and Project Online.

Target audience
The course is intended for project leaders, planners, PMO staff, team leads and key users who want to organise planning and progress in Planner Premium. Experience with Planner or MS Project is not required; knowledge of working in projects is useful.
Teaching method
Short and practical. First the explanation you need, then mostly doing. You work with your own example (or with a practice case), receive direct feedback from the trainer and translate every step into your day-to-day work. Classroom-based, interactive and down to earth, in a small group.

No specific prior knowledge required. Basic knowledge of project-based working is useful, but not a requirement.

The course is given in Dutch as standard. The trainer speaks English. English-language course materials can be used. If at least 3 participants register, the course can also be given entirely in English.

Frequently asked questions
Can I cancel free of charge?
Yes. Up to four weeks before the first day of the course you can cancel free of charge, without giving a reason. You then receive a credit note or, if you have already paid, a refund. If you cancel later, you pay part of the course fee: 25% between four and two weeks before the start, 75% in the two weeks before it and 100% in the final week. Moving to another start date is free of charge up to two weeks before the start, after that 50%. Sending a colleague in your place is always possible. Read the cancellation terms.

How is the Planner Premium course structured?

Do you receive a certificate after completing the course?
Yes, on completion of the course you receive a Learnit certificate of attendance. It states that you have attended the Planner Premium course.
Can the Planner Premium course be delivered in-company?

What is the difference between Planner Premium and Planner (basic)?
Planner (basic) is a lightweight task planner for teams, aimed at overview and collaboration. Planner Premium adds project management functionality: phases, milestones, dependencies, timeline, baselines and more extensive progress tracking. This makes Planner Premium suitable for projects where you genuinely want to manage schedule and lead time.
Is Planner Premium a replacement for Microsoft Project Online?
For many project organisations, Planner Premium is indeed a workable alternative to Project Online, certainly if you already organise your projects within Microsoft 365. For very complex portfolios with extensive resource and financial management, Project Online sometimes remains more suitable. In the course you learn how to make that trade-off and how to translate existing Project Online working methods to Planner Premium.
Can you work with dependencies and a critical path in Planner Premium?
Yes, Planner Premium supports dependencies between tasks and a visual timeline that makes lead times and critical elements visible. This allows you to spot risks early and manage deadlines in a targeted way. In the course you practise this with your own project.
What are baselines and when do you use them in Planner Premium?
A baseline is a recorded version of your plan at a particular moment. It allows you to compare later how the actual course of events deviates from the original plan. You use baselines when you want to keep a grip on scope, lead time and agreements made, for example in projects involving clients or steering groups.
Can you keep track of several projects at once with Planner Premium?
Yes, Planner Premium offers ways to follow several projects at a high level, set priorities and discuss choices. That is useful for project managers running several projects at once and for PMOs that want to keep an overview. In the course you lay the groundwork for this, optionally including reporting or dashboards.
