Power BI is full of AI features that you may barely be using yet. The Q&A visual lets users ask questions in plain language, Key Influencers tells you which factors drive your metric, and Smart Narrative automatically writes a summary of your dashboard. You will learn how to configure these components so that they actually provide reliable answers.
In the morning you work with the existing AI visuals and the AI functions in Power Query, such as sentiment analysis, key phrases and language detection. You practise with synonyms and linguistic models for Q&A, with Auto-Insights to spot trends and with the Decomposition Tree for drill-down without a fixed hierarchy.
The afternoon session is devoted entirely to Copilot in Power BI. You will discover which licence you need, how to generate a report from a natural-language prompt and how to have DAX formulas written for you with an explanation included. We also discuss the data governance side: what Copilot does and does not see, and where the pitfalls lie.
You work practically in your own Power BI environment on a realistic dataset all day. Copilot in Power BI requires Premium capacity (F64 or higher) or a Fabric licence. We make these available during the course, so you do not need a Premium licence of your own to take part.
Afterwards you will know how to use the AI features in Power BI to make your dashboards smarter and more interactive. You will recognise where AI saves you time and where you should remain critical of the output.
Specifically, by the end you will be able to:
This course is intended for Power BI users and developers who want to make their dashboards more interactive and intelligent with AI. You already work with Power BI Pro or Premium and now want to take a further step.
The course is intended for:
You work practically in your own Power BI environment all day. After a short explanation you get straight to work yourself with a realistic dataset. In this way you build up a complete AI-powered dashboard step by step, from the first data import to a demonstrable solution.
You spend the morning on the existing AI functions such as Q&A, Auto-Insights, Key Influencers, Decomposition Tree and Smart Narrative. In the afternoon you dive into Copilot in Power BI: you learn how to generate reports with natural language prompts and have DAX formulas written for you. You can bring your own dataset or work with our sample.
The group consists of no more than 8 participants, so there is plenty of room for your questions and your own case. You can choose between classroom and online. You will take home a workbook with a step-by-step plan, a reference dashboard with all AI features and a prompt cheat sheet for Copilot.
You have basic Power BI skills and already work with dashboards. You understand the difference between Power Query, the data model and the report, and you have built a report yourself. Our Power BI Basics course or comparable practical experience is good preparation.
The Copilot module requires a Premium capacity (F64 or higher) or a Fabric licence. We make these available in our environment during the course, so you do not need a licence of your own.
Would you like to organise this training for a whole group or several groups? This can be cost-effective. For example, we can tailor the content entirely to your organisation, and training a whole group is also cheaper.
Are you looking at large numbers of participants or a complete academy? That involves a great deal. Consider planning and communication, for example, or identifying and agreeing the objectives and content of the training. Or differences in level, feedback mechanisms and safeguarding. Fortunately, Learnit has extensive experience in this field (more than 25 years) and we are happy to help you through this process.
The training is given in Dutch as standard. The trainer has a good command of English. English-language course material can be used. With a minimum enrolment of 3 participants, the training can also be given entirely in English.
At Learnit you will always find a course that takes you further. From (technical) IT skills to communication or personal leadership. You can also choose the training format that suits you best: a classroom course, a tailor-made course at your own office, an online course or an e-learning. We have the right course and the right format for everyone. Because learning in the way that suits you best delivers the best results.
Personal attention and a pleasant atmosphere. Whether you take a course with us, at your office or on your own PC, we make sure you feel at home enough to push your boundaries.
New opportunities arise when you get moving. Stay sharp. Keep taking new steps. We encourage you to take the plunge and really go for it.
Discover something new. Build on your strengths. And choose your own path. We help you grow with training courses and learning formats that genuinely suit you.
We always think in terms of possibilities and win-win. And every day we work on new solutions for tomorrow. By offering training courses that leave you well prepared for the future.
We don't make empty promises. What we do offer is quality, knowledge and experience. A broad range of courses, made possible by our inspired staff and trainers.
We listen to what matters to you. To what you need. Because that is where our solution, our tailored approach, begins. Understanding each other properly and communicating clearly: that is what we believe in.
Taking a training course at Learnit means learning together. Together with your experienced trainer, together with your course group or together with your colleagues. And whether you take the training at home, at your office or at one of our training locations, we are always available to help you. To share our knowledge with you in a way that is genuinely useful to you. Getting further together through personal attention and understanding each other well; that is what we believe in.
Learning theory from a book that you can then hardly use in your work? Not at Learnit! Whichever training you take with us, you can put it to use at your workplace straight away. Because of the unique learning objectives you set together with the trainer at the start of the training. Because of the alternation between theory and (interactive) practical assignments. And by bringing the challenges you face in your daily work along to the training.
No suitable start date? Send us a date request. Then we will look together at how we can still meet your training needs.

You need basic Power BI skills. You have already built a dashboard yourself and you understand the difference between Power Query, the data model and the report. Our Power BI Basics course or comparable practical experience is good preparation. Knowledge of AI is not required; we build that up step by step.
The course is intended for Power BI users and developers who want to make their dashboards more interactive and more intelligent. Think of data analysts, BI developers, business controllers and report builders who already work with Power BI and want to make use of the AI possibilities. You work with Power BI Pro or Premium.
You work with the Q&A visual, Auto-Insights, Key Influencers, the Decomposition Tree and Smart Narrative. You also apply AI functions in Power Query, such as sentiment analysis, key phrases and language detection. The afternoon focuses on Copilot in Power BI: generating reports with natural language prompts, having DAX formulas written for you and receiving visualisation suggestions.
Yes. You can choose classroom training at our location or online via Microsoft Teams. In-company is also possible, in which case we adapt the course to your organisation and, if you wish, work with your own dataset. Contact us for a tailor-made quotation.
Yes, on completion you receive a certificate of participation from Learnit. It states which topics were covered, so you can add the certificate to your LinkedIn profile or personal development plan.
You receive a workbook with step-by-step exercises that match the dataset you work with during the course. You can also use the workbook afterwards as a reference. In addition, you may bring your own dataset or work with our sample dataset.
Online you'll find isolated snippets about Q&A, Copilot or Key Influencers, but rarely a complete real-world account. In this training course you build one coherent dashboard, and you hear straight away where the pitfalls are. You get personal feedback on your own configuration and can put your questions directly to an experienced trainer. That often saves you weeks of working it out yourself.
Yes. During the course you work in your own Power BI environment and you can bring your own dataset. You apply the knowledge you gain about Q&A, Key Influencers, Smart Narrative and Copilot directly to your existing reports. Many participants enrich their current dashboards with one or more AI visuals that same week.
In Power BI Basics you learn the fundamentals: importing data via Power Query, setting up a data model, DAX basics and building your first visualisations. In Power BI with AI you go further where the basics stop. You enrich existing dashboards with AI visuals and use Copilot to create reports and DAX formulas more quickly. The AI course is therefore a follow-up, not an alternative.
Yes, provided you have basic Power BI skills. We focus on what you can achieve with the AI features, not on the underlying algorithms. As a business controller you will learn how to use Key Influencers to find the causes of deviations, how to have Smart Narrative write your management summary and how Copilot helps you with DAX formulas without you having to be an expert yourself.
Copilot only sees data the user has access to, via the existing Power BI permissions and Row-Level Security. During the course we discuss which data Copilot processes, where the limits lie and which licence (Premium F64 or Fabric) is required. We also consider the practical pitfalls, such as hallucinated formulas and the need to always check Copilot output before taking it to production.
