In brief. AI Governance & Ethics: working with AI safely, responsibly and in compliance is a 1-day classroom course. Description
Almost every organisation now uses AI tools. That brings many benefits, but it also raises questions. What may you enter into ChatGPT? Who is responsible if the output turns out to be incorrect? And how do you prevent sensitive information from ending up somewhere it does not belong?
The EU AI Act has recently set clear requirements for organisations working with AI. Think of demonstrable AI literacy among staff, transparency about how AI is used and responsible handling of risks. As an employee or manager you will have to deal with this one way or another.
In this course you get to grips with the key themes surrounding AI governance: privacy, data security, bias, transparency and human oversight. You learn what the law requires of you, where the ethical boundaries lie and how to assess AI output critically before you rely on it.
You leave with concrete guidelines that you can apply directly in your own work and that contribute to responsible use of AI within your team or organisation.

Teaching method
The course is classroom-based and interactive. Guided by an experienced trainer, you work with practical examples, short exercises and group discussions. You discuss recognisable situations from your own working environment and receive practical tools you can apply immediately. The trainer moves between theory and practice, so that you understand what the rules are and also learn how to use them in your work. There is plenty of opportunity to ask questions and to bring in your own cases.
Prior knowledge
You do not need any specific prior knowledge. Some experience with AI tools such as ChatGPT or Microsoft Copilot is useful, but not required. The course is accessible to anyone who wants to learn to use AI responsibly at work.

Can I cancel free of charge?
Yes. Up to four weeks before the first day of the course you can cancel free of charge, without giving a reason. You then receive a credit note or, if you have already paid, a refund. If you cancel later, you pay part of the course fee: 25% between four and two weeks before the start, 75% in the two weeks before it and 100% in the final week. Moving to another start date is free of charge up to two weeks before the start, after that 50%. Sending a colleague in your place is always possible. Read the cancellation terms.

You work with a mix of short pieces of theory, practical examples, exercises and group discussions. The trainer moves continually between theory and application and uses recognisable situations from everyday working practice. What is the difference with a course on ChatGPT or Copilot itself?
Courses such as our ChatGPT or Copilot training focus on using those specific tools effectively: prompting, automating tasks and increasing productivity. This course goes a level deeper and covers the framework around them: regulation, ethics, risks and governance. The two complement each other and make a strong combination.
I work in HR or recruitment. Is this course relevant for me?
Certainly. In HR and recruitment in particular you quickly encounter sensitive AI applications, such as AI in recruitment, selection and assessment. The EU AI Act classifies many of these applications as high-risk. During the course we look at bias, privacy and the human oversight that remains essential in these kinds of processes.
How do you deal with bias and discrimination in AI applications?
Bias often arises because AI models are trained on data that contains existing prejudices. In this course you will learn how to recognise bias in AI output, what risks this entails (for example in selection or decision-making) and how to deal with it. You will discuss practical strategies for limiting bias and how to use human oversight to prevent undesirable outcomes.
