An employment contract is much more than a few sheets of paper. Most of the mutual rights and obligations are in fact laid down in legislation, collective labour agreements and case law. In this course you learn in an accessible way how employment law works around entering into, extending and performing an employment contract. You get to grips with the most important rules and know how to apply them in your own HR practice. This helps you avoid mistakes and know where you stand.

Yes. Before the course we discuss with you what the group can already do, where things go wrong in practice and what should be different afterwards. The trainer uses examples and exercises from your own work.
That depends on the course. For a skills course we prefer to work with a small group, so that everyone can really practise. If more people are involved, we schedule several groups or set up a fixed programme.
You get a fixed price for the whole group, in a tailored quotation. For a group this works out cheaper than registering everyone individually. For comparison: a place on the scheduled course costs EUR 625,- excl. VAT per participant.

You will learn how employment law works in relation to the employment contract. This includes entering into and renewing contracts, special clauses such as probationary periods and non-competition, the chain rule and flexible contract types. Application of collective labour agreements, the employer's right of instruction and good employee conduct are also covered.
This course is intended for HR and personnel officers, and for anyone who carries out part of the personnel tasks. You are also welcome if you are just starting out in an HR role and want to build a solid grounding in employment law. The course focuses on ordinary employment law, not on civil service law.
You do not need any specific prior knowledge. It is useful, however, if you work in an HR or personnel role or deal with employment contracts on a regular basis. That way you can link the theory directly to your own practice.
The course is structured around the life cycle of an employment contract. You start with the application and appointment, and work through to special clauses, extension and changes during employment. Theory is consistently linked to practical examples.
You follow the course in a classroom setting in a small group. The trainer explains the theory clearly and alternates it with examples from practice. You can bring in your own cases and also learn from the experiences of other participants.
The course is taught by an experienced trainer with a background in employment law. Our trainers know how to make legal material accessible and consistently link theory to recognisable practical situations.
You will receive a syllabus setting out the main points of legislation, regulations and case law clearly by topic. This gives you a handy reference work for your day-to-day practice. Afterwards you will also receive a certificate of participation.
Extensive preparation is not necessary. It does help to think in advance about situations from your own working practice that you find difficult. You can raise these during the course, so that you get targeted answers.
