ChatGPT offers far more possibilities than you might think, but it also has clear limitations. In this practical course you will get to grips with smart prompts, optimal output and direct applications in your work. After one day you will be using ChatGPT purposefully for your own goals.

ChatGPT can make your work considerably easier, provided you know how to direct the tool. In this course you will gain insight into what ChatGPT is, what it can do and where its limits lie.

You work with the current versions of ChatGPT and learn the difference between the free and paid variants. You practise writing effective prompts, uploading and analysing documents or images, generating content and refining the output to suit your purpose. Voice functions and practical pitfalls are also covered.

Theory and practice alternate, with plenty of room for your own work examples. Guided by an experienced trainer in the field of artificial intelligence, you will develop a solid basis in a single day for using ChatGPT independently and purposefully in your daily work.

You write effective prompts that give you the answer you want, you optimise the output and steer the conversation where necessary, you generate various types of content, from texts to summaries, you have ChatGPT analyse documents and images, and you apply your knowledge directly to your own working situation.

Target audience

This course is intended for anyone who wants to get the most out of ChatGPT. Whether you are just starting out or already use the tool now and then: you will learn how to put ChatGPT to smart use in your work. No prior knowledge is required.

Teaching method

During the course ChatGPT you switch continually between theory and practice. The atmosphere is interactive, so you can put all your questions to the trainer: a professional in the field of artificial intelligence. There is plenty of room to bring in your own practical examples and to exchange ideas with your fellow participants. Practising is at least as important as the theory, which is why you get started with practical assignments right away. That way you experience how to write the strongest prompts for your purpose and how to refine ChatGPT's answers further.

Prior knowledge

You don't need any specific prior knowledge. Can you work with a computer and a browser, and do you have a working e-mail address? Then you can get started straight away. Previous experience with ChatGPT or other AI tools isn't necessary, though it's certainly useful.

Learnit's ChatGPT course is a broad introduction and application course of (classroom-based). It suits you if you have already tried ChatGPT but feel you could get more out of it for your day-to-day work: e-mails, summaries, content, analyses of documents and photos. You learn to write prompts, optimise output and recognise the limits of the tool. This course is less suitable if you want to work purely technically with the API, build custom GPTs for production environments, or train AI models. Developer courses are more appropriate for that. Are you hesitating between a general AI orientation and this course? Choose this one if you want to get to work with ChatGPT concretely in your own practical situation.

After the course day you work with ChatGPT in a structured way instead of relying on isolated, intuitive questions. You formulate prompts according to a fixed structure (role, context, task, format) and know how to refine an answer further by asking iterative follow-up questions. You can upload documents and images for analysis, summaries or translations, and you use speech recognition where that is quicker. You also generate various types of content, such as e-mails, reports, texts or brainstorming lists, tailored to your own working situation. Just as important: you recognise the limits of the model and know when an answer may be unreliable or fabricated. The course is taught in a classroom setting. You leave with a way of working that you can apply the very next working day.

A large part of what you learn is transferable. The course focuses on ChatGPT, but the core. Formulating effective prompts, optimising output and recognising limitations. Works with virtually all modern language models. Prompt techniques such as providing context, role, purpose and format are universally applicable in Copilot, Claude and Gemini. What differs per tool is the integration: Copilot sits within Microsoft 365, Gemini within Google Workspace, and ChatGPT works separately or via API. The course is classroom-based. If you specifically want to use Copilot in Microsoft 365, a separate Copilot course makes more sense. For a broad foundation in generative AI, this ChatGPT course is a good starting point.

No, not just like that. In the free and standard paid versions of ChatGPT, the data you enter may be used to train the model further, unless you explicitly switch this off or use a business subscription (ChatGPT Team or Enterprise). In principle, personal data, client files, source code or confidential company information therefore have no place there. During Learnit's ChatGPT course we cover the limitations and risks of the tool, including how to handle input responsibly. You learn which versions offer which privacy settings, how to build prompts without sharing sensitive data unnecessarily, and when you are better off choosing a different solution.
