Where does the in-company course Collaborating and communicating with purpose take place?
Wherever suits you: at your office, at one of our training locations or online. You also choose the date.
Can the content be tailored to our organisation?
Yes. Before the course we discuss with you what the group can already do, where things go wrong in practice and what should be different afterwards. The trainer uses examples and exercises from your own work.
How large can the group be?
That depends on the course. For a skills course we prefer to work with a small group, so that everyone can really practise. If more people are involved, we schedule several groups or set up a fixed programme.
What does Collaborating and communicating with purpose in-company cost?
You get a fixed price for the whole group, in a tailored quote. For a group this works out cheaper than booking everyone individually. For comparison: a place on the scheduled course costs EUR 1250,- excl. VAT per participant.
Can the course be delivered in English?
Yes. For in-company courses we deliver the training in the language of your choice, Dutch or English. Mention it in your request.
Do participants receive a certificate?
Yes, every participant receives a certificate of attendance afterwards.
How do I request a quote?
Via the quote form: state the course, the number of participants and roughly where and when you would like it. An adviser will then contact you.
Who is the Collaboration and Purposeful Communication course suitable for?
The Collaborating and Communicating with Purpose course is suitable for anyone who wants to get more out of working with others. Think of professionals who sometimes get stuck in a team setting, want to sharpen their social and tactical skills, or want to make the best possible use of their own qualities and those of their colleagues. No prior knowledge is required. The course is taught in a classroom setting, together with other participants.
Which topics are covered in the Collaborating and Purposeful Communication course?
In this course you cover nine core topics: communicating (talking and listening), active listening, summarising and following up on conversations, keeping to agreements, giving and receiving feedback, motivating, dealing with diversity in personality types, negotiating and setting goals using the SMART model. The final programme is agreed in an intake beforehand, so that it matches your learning objectives and your practical situation.
Which teaching methods are used during the Collaboration and Purposeful Communication course?
The course combines four working methods: concrete experience, experimenting with behaviour and techniques, reflection and exploring theory. There is plenty of action in the programme, so that you immediately notice the effect of new behaviour. You alternate practical exercises with moments of reflection and keep relating what you have learned back to your own work situation. That increases the likelihood of lasting behavioural change.
Do you receive a certificate after the Collaborating and Communicating with Purpose course?
Yes, on completing the Collaboration and Purposeful Communication course you receive a certificate of participation from Learnit. This certificate confirms that you actively took part in both course days and worked on your communication and collaboration skills. The classroom course, including course materials and an experienced trainer who guides you in small groups.
Is prior knowledge required for the Collaborating and Communicating with Purpose course?
No, no specific prior knowledge is required for the Collaborating and Purposeful Communication course. The classroom training course is suitable for anyone who wants to improve the way they work with others. Prior to the course there is an individual intake, in which your learning objectives and practical experience are mapped out. The final programme is determined on that basis, so that the content matches your level.
What is the difference between the Collaborating and Communicating with Purpose course and a standalone communication skills course?
A standalone communication course focuses mainly on conversational skills such as active listening, summarising and giving feedback. The Collaborating and Communicating with Purpose course at Learnit explicitly combines these communication skills with the collaboration process: setting goals using the SMART model, keeping to agreements, negotiating, dealing with diversity in personality structures and setting priorities when things work out differently in practice than planned. So you work on how you communicate and on what you want to achieve together and how you make that happen. The course is given in a classroom setting in small groups. Choose this course if you find yourself getting stuck in collaborations and want to improve both your communication and your approach to working together.
How do I know that this training course will really deliver something in my day-to-day work, and will not just remain theory?
The Collaboration and Purposeful Communication course is built around experiencing, experimenting and reflecting. Not around listening to theory. During the course you actively practise conversation skills such as active listening, summarising, giving feedback and negotiating. Beforehand there is an individual intake in which your learning objectives are mapped out, so that the programme matches your own working situation. The SMART model is used to make objectives concrete and measurable. Compared with an e-learning course or a book, here you get direct feedback on your behaviour from an experienced trainer and fellow participants. You make the translation to practice yourself. The trainer guides that process. The result: you recognise your own patterns in collaboration and have practised concrete techniques that you can apply the following week. You will find the costs on the course page.
What does this classroom course give me that I cannot get from a book on communication or an online course?
The difference lies in practising with real people and receiving direct feedback. In a book or e-learning course you read about active listening, summarising and the SMART model, but you only notice what your style does when you try it out in a room with other participants. During this course you alternate theory with concrete experience, experimenting with behaviour and reflection. You receive feedback from the trainer and from fellow participants with different personality structures from your own, which self-study cannot offer. In addition, your learning objectives are identified in advance during an intake, so that the programme matches your practice. Choose self-study if you mainly want to acquire knowledge; choose this training course if you genuinely want to change your behaviour in collaboration.
