Where does the in-company Excel Pivot Tables, Formulas and Functions course take place?

Wherever suits you: at your office, at one of our training locations or online. You also choose the date.

Can the content be tailored to our organisation?

Yes. Before the course we discuss with you what the group can already do, where things go wrong in practice and what should be different afterwards. The trainer uses examples and exercises from your own work.

How large can the group be?

That depends on the course. For a skills course we prefer to work with a small group, so that everyone can really practise. If more people are involved, we schedule several groups or set up a fixed programme.

What does Excel Pivot Tables, Formulas and Functions in-company cost?

You receive a fixed price for the whole group, in a tailored quote. For a group this works out cheaper than booking everyone individually. By way of comparison: a place on the scheduled course costs € 525,- excl. VAT per participant.

Can the course be delivered in English?

Yes. For in-company courses we deliver the training in the language of your choice, Dutch or English. Mention it in your request.

Do participants receive a certificate?

Yes, every participant receives a certificate of attendance afterwards.

How do I request a quote?

Via the quote form: state the course, the number of participants and roughly where and when you would like it. An adviser will then contact you.

How long does the Excel PivotTables, formulas and functions course take?
The Excel Pivot Tables, Formulas and Functions course lasts one day and is run in an open learning format. You work in a small group at your own pace on formulas, functions, databases and pivot tables, with personal guidance from an experienced trainer. You can also take this course as part of the Excel Expert course.
What will you learn in the Excel Pivot Tables, Formulas and Functions course?
In this course you learn to work with advanced formulas and functions, to build and filter databases, and to create pivot tables in order to present large volumes of data clearly. Topics covered include date, text and financial functions, slicers, timelines, pivot charts and calculated fields. Optionally, you also look at Excel in combination with Microsoft 365 Copilot.
Do I need prior knowledge for the Excel Pivot Tables, Formulas and Functions course?
Yes, you need basic knowledge of Excel. You can already format a worksheet, enter simple formulas and work with cells and ranges. Experience with functions such as SUM and AVERAGE is useful. Not sure about your level? At the start of the day the trainer will discuss your starting level and tailor the exercises accordingly, so that you can work in a focused way.
Does the Excel Pivot Tables, Formulas and Functions course also cover Copilot for Excel?
Yes, this course optionally covers Excel with Microsoft 365 Copilot. You will learn how to use the AI assistant to analyse data, build formulas and generate insights from pivot tables. Let us know when you book that you are interested, and the trainer will tailor the exercises accordingly.
Which versions of Excel is the PivotTables, formulas and functions course suitable for?
The course is suitable for all modern versions of Excel, including Excel 365, 2021, 2019 and 2016. When you book, you indicate which version you use, so that you receive the right course material for your working environment. That way you practise with the buttons and menus you see every day and can apply what you have learned directly to your work.
Can the Excel PivotTables, formulas and functions course also be taken in-company?
Yes, the Excel Pivot Tables, Formulas and Functions course is also available in-company. Your organisation then receives a tailored course, geared to your own practical examples and data files. This is useful if you want to train several colleagues at once. The course is delivered on location or online by an experienced trainer. Request a quotation via the course page for the options and prices.
When should you choose this course and when a YouTube tutorial or self-study?
A YouTube tutorial or online self-study works fine if you want to learn one specific function, for example VLOOKUP or a simple pivot table. You choose this classroom course if you work with data on a structural basis and want to understand the connections between functions, databases and pivot tables. During the open learning day you work at your own pace on exercises, with a trainer who answers your questions on the spot. You can bring your own work files and use them during the course. That often saves weeks of puzzling afterwards. Self-study also lacks feedback on your approach: with a tutorial, you have no way of knowing whether your solution is efficient. In the course, you do get that assessment.
What is the difference between this course and the Excel Expert course?
The Excel Pivot Tables, Formulas and Functions course is run in an open learning format and covers advanced functions, databases and pivot tables. The Excel Expert course covers the same material, but adds macros (VBA basics) and working together with other Office programs. Choose this course if you mainly want to work with large volumes of data using pivot tables, slicers, timelines, database functions (COUNTIF, SUMIF) and calculated fields. Choose Excel Expert if you also want to automate tasks with macros or exchange data with Word and Outlook. In terms of content there is overlap: the basic part is identical. So you can take this course first and decide later whether to book the follow-up part separately.
