Your schedules are spread across separate files and you are losing the overview. In this course you build a single central project environment in which your team can follow along, contribute and track progress through clear dashboards.
You work in the Project Web App from the outset. You set up enterprise calendars, create a central resource pool and define roles and permissions. You then build a project structure with phases, tasks, milestones and dependencies, review the critical path and record a baseline.
On day two you connect your project data to Power BI. You create a first report with filters and slicers for utilisation per role, progress per phase and tasks at risk. You link projects to Teams and the associated SharePoint site, so that planning, documents and updates all come together in one place.
You practise with your own case or a recognisable practical example. At the end you step into your own project environment with confidence.
After this course you can independently set up a project environment with calendars, roles and permissions. You build a clear structure with phases, tasks, relationships and milestones, including a baseline. You manage resources centrally and keep track of availability and deployment. In Power BI you have a starter dashboard showing planning, capacity and progress. Your team works in a single environment via a video meeting and SharePoint, with clear agreements on access. You spot bottlenecks such as a shifting critical path or overload at an early stage and can adjust in good time.
The course is intended for project managers, planners, PMO staff and administrators who work on a project basis and want to use MS Project Online in practice. Experience with Project is not required. A basic knowledge of working on a project basis will help you get started.
A short explanation, then straight into practice. You test your choices in your own environment or in a practice case. There is room for questions, and you are given steps that you can easily follow again later. You work with your own project or a recognisable practical example.
No experience with MS Project is required. Basic knowledge of project-based working and Microsoft 365 is useful.
This is a classroom-based MS Project Online course
Would you like to organise this training for a whole group or several groups? This can be cost-effective. For example, we can tailor the content entirely to your organisation, and training a whole group is also cheaper.
Are you looking at large numbers of participants or a complete academy? That involves a great deal. Consider planning and communication, for example, or identifying and agreeing the objectives and content of the training. Or differences in level, feedback mechanisms and safeguarding. Fortunately, Learnit has extensive experience in this field (more than 25 years) and we are happy to help you through this process.
The training is given in Dutch as standard. The trainer has a good command of English. English-language course material can be used. With a minimum enrolment of 3 participants, the training can also be given entirely in English.
At Learnit you will always find a course that takes you further. From (technical) IT skills to communication or personal leadership. You can also choose the training format that suits you best: a classroom course, a tailor-made course at your own office, an online course or an e-learning. We have the right course and the right format for everyone. Because learning in the way that suits you best delivers the best results.
Personal attention and a pleasant atmosphere. Whether you take a course with us, at your office or on your own PC, we make sure you feel at home enough to push your boundaries.
New opportunities arise when you get moving. Stay sharp. Keep taking new steps. We encourage you to take the plunge and really go for it.
Discover something new. Build on your strengths. And choose your own path. We help you grow with training courses and learning formats that genuinely suit you.
We always think in terms of possibilities and win-win. And every day we work on new solutions for tomorrow. By offering training courses that leave you well prepared for the future.
We don't make empty promises. What we do offer is quality, knowledge and experience. A broad range of courses, made possible by our inspired staff and trainers.
We listen to what matters to you. To what you need. Because that is where our solution, our tailored approach, begins. Understanding each other properly and communicating clearly: that is what we believe in.
Taking a training course at Learnit means learning together. Together with your experienced trainer, together with your course group or together with your colleagues. And whether you take the training at home, at your office or at one of our training locations, we are always available to help you. To share our knowledge with you in a way that is genuinely useful to you. Getting further together through personal attention and understanding each other well; that is what we believe in.
Learning theory from a book that you can then hardly use in your work? Not at Learnit! Whichever training you take with us, you can put it to use at your workplace straight away. Because of the unique learning objectives you set together with the trainer at the start of the training. Because of the alternation between theory and (interactive) practical assignments. And by bringing the challenges you face in your daily work along to the training.
No suitable start date? Send us a date request. Then we will look together at how we can still meet your training needs.

“This MS Project 2007 course is a perfect entry-level course. All the important aspects you need in order to find your way around the programme as a beginner are covered. The teaching is nicely varied, which keeps the material engaging. Two days is a good amount of time to take in the knowledge and clarify specific questions. Recommended.”

“The MS Project Basics course gives a clear impression of the possibilities within the Office suite. Thanks to the chronological structure of the documentation, combined with the exercises provided, you can apply the theory yourself straight away. This means you quickly make the programme your own. After the course we were given all the blank exercises so that we can go through them again in our own time. Basic knowledge of Office itself is advisable, given how much overlap there is.”

Learnit reviews
You learn how to set up MS Project Online as a central project environment. You work in the Project Web App, create enterprise calendars and a resource pool, build a project structure with phases and milestones, and connect your data to Power BI. You also learn to collaborate via Teams and SharePoint.
The course is intended for project managers, planners, PMO staff and administrators who work on a project basis and want to make practical use of MS Project Online for planning, resource management and reporting within a team.
No. Experience with MS Project is not required. We start with the basics and build up steadily. A basic knowledge of project-based working and Microsoft 365 is useful, but not a requirement.
Yes, we would encourage it. Working with your own situation gives you the most value. You can also practise with a recognisable practical example that we use during the course.
Project Online runs in the cloud and is intended for teams that plan together, share resources and report. The desktop version is installed locally and is mainly useful for individual use. During the course we show you when each version is the better choice.
Yes. On completion you will receive a Learnit certificate of attendance. This shows that you have taken the MS Project Online course.
You connect Power BI Desktop to the OData source of Project Online. From that connection you build reports with filters and slicers, for example for utilisation per role, progress per phase and tasks at risk. During the course you create a first working dashboard.
You create a central resource pool in the Project Web App, so that all projects share the same resources. Roles, availability and leave are recorded centrally. This prevents double booking and gives you a single overview of where people are deployed.
You link each project to a Teams channel and the associated SharePoint site. Tabs for planning and documents are kept in one fixed place. Updates, files and conversations stay connected to the project, and you manage access through clear roles and permissions.
You use Project Online for teams that plan together, share resources and want to report via Power BI. Project Desktop is useful for individual planners working locally on a single project. In practice you combine the two: planners open Online projects in the desktop version for more extensive editing.
You first record a baseline as soon as the planning is complete. After that you track changes via the Gantt view with critical path highlighting. You see shifts in tasks straight away, and reports in Power BI or the Project Web App give you alerts for tasks that deviate from the baseline.
