Where does the in-company MS Project Advanced course take place?
Wherever suits you: at your office, at one of our training locations or online. You also choose the date.
Can the content be tailored to our organisation?
Yes. Before the course we discuss with you what the group can already do, where things go wrong in practice and what should be different afterwards. The trainer uses examples and exercises from your own work.
How large can the group be?
That depends on the course. For a skills course we prefer to work with a small group, so that everyone can really practise. If more people are involved, we schedule several groups or set up a fixed programme.
What does MS Project Advanced in-company cost?
You receive a fixed price for the whole group, in a tailored quotation. For a group this works out cheaper than booking everyone individually. For comparison: a place on the scheduled course costs € 1190,- excl. VAT per participant.
Can the course be delivered in English?
Yes. For in-company courses we deliver the training in the language of your choice, Dutch or English. Mention it in your request.
Do participants receive a certificate?
Yes, every participant receives a certificate of attendance afterwards.
How do I request a quote?
Via the quote form: state the course, the number of participants and roughly where and when you would like it. An adviser will then contact you.
How long does the MS Project Advanced course take and what does it cost?
The MS Project Advanced course lasts 2 days. You follow the course in a classroom setting in a small group, guided by an experienced trainer. Over those two days you work through all the advanced functionality of MS Project, from resource pools and formulas to visual reports and sub-projects. Course materials are included. You will find the current price on the course page.
What prior knowledge do I need for the MS Project Advanced course?
For MS Project Advanced you need basic knowledge of MS Project. You can already schedule tasks, assign resources, track project costs and create standard reports. If you do not have this basis, first take the MS Project Basics course. If you are unsure about your entry level, the trainer will discuss this at the start of the course, so that the content matches your working situation.
Which topics are covered during the MS Project Advanced course?
During the classroom-based MS Project Advanced course you cover all the advanced features of MS Project. Think of working with multiple calendars, a Work Breakdown Structure, formulas, lookup tables and graphical indicators. You also learn to work with a resource pool, sub-projects and macros. In addition, you compile your own reports and export visual reports to Excel and Visio.
Do I receive a certificate after the MS Project Advanced course?
Yes, on completion of the MS Project Advanced course you receive a certificate of participation. This certificate confirms that you have mastered the advanced features of MS Project, such as working with resource pools, sub-projects, macros and visual reports. You can add this certificate to your CV or LinkedIn profile to demonstrate your project management skills to employers and clients.
Can I also take the MS Project Advanced course in-company or as a classroom course on location?
Yes, the MS Project Advanced course is taught in a classroom setting and can also be delivered in-company. You work in a small group with an experienced trainer. With an in-company course, you tailor the content to the practice within your organisation. You may bring your own project examples, so that you work directly on recognisable situations from your working environment. For current rates for scheduled courses or in-company delivery, see the course page or request a quote.
Who is the MS Project Advanced course suitable for?
The MS Project Advanced course is suitable for project leaders, planners and project staff who already work with MS Project and have mastered the basics. You can plan tasks independently, assign resources and produce simple reports, but you want to get more out of the programme. Think of working with resource pools, formulas, sub-projects, macros and exporting visual reports to Excel and Visio.
When should you choose the classroom-based MS Project Advanced course instead of self-study via YouTube or an online course?
Self-study works fine for getting to know individual features, but it stalls as soon as you want to combine advanced topics in your own project planning. In the classroom-based MS Project Advanced course you work in a small group with an experienced trainer who establishes at the start what your entry level is and which issues you run into. Topics such as resource pools, formulas with lookup tables and graphical indicators, sub-projects and exporting visual reports to Excel and Visio are hard to grasp on your own without direct feedback. You may also bring your own practical example, so that you apply solutions straight away to your working situation. Choose the classroom format if you work with MS Project on a regular basis and want to become faster and more proficient, rather than picking up isolated tricks.
What do I get in the MS Project Advanced course that I do not learn in the basics course?
The MS Project Basics course focuses on planning tasks, assigning resources and creating standard reports. The follow-up course goes further with advanced features that are not covered in the basics. Specifically, you learn to work with formulas, lookup tables and graphical indicators, to set up a resource pool for projects that share resources, and to link sub-projects into a single master schedule. We also cover macros in MS Project, multiple timelines, customising the GANTT view and exporting visual reports to Excel and Visio. In addition, you go deeper into reports such as the cost overview, cash flow overview and resource overview. The course is taught in the classroom in small groups, so you can bring in examples from your own practice.
