  • "I took the "Word 2010 Advanced" course. On top of the basic knowledge I already had of Word, this is a valuable addition to my daily work at the secretariat. I was trained years ago on the Office 2003 package, and Office 2010 does differ quite a lot from the 2003 version, which means it often takes more time to find out where they have hidden that one button or function this time. I will certainly be putting a lot of it into practice and I learned many new things (including things I thought I already knew well!)."

  • “The Word Tips and Tricks course makes you aware of everything that is possible for adding tidiness and creativity to your documents in practice. Knowing what the options are is a first step. Remembering everything is harder. But you can look that up, and we should still be getting an overview of the topics covered. So that step by step you can learn, use and retain whatever applies to you. The trainer was excellent!”

  • "I am/was used to following a course or programme as part of a group. With this method, you get started on your own after a brief round of introductions. The coursebook is clearly and logically structured. You also get to take the CD-ROM home with you so you can practise more if needed. You decide your own pace and which parts you give extra attention and want to practise further. Even though I always learn a lot from others when topics are covered and discussed in a classroom setting, I found this method very useful."

  • “For years I hated the word processing programme ‘Microsoft Word’. I felt unwell at the very thought of having to write a letter in ‘Word’ with photos, tables and so on. I would sooner write a letter in Excel, because I could handle that better. That fear has now gone; it was simply a lack of knowledge. I had never really taken the time to get to grips with the programme. I started out using the wrong order of work when setting up a document, and that resulted in frustration with all the consequences that entails.”

  • "That you can do so much with Word. It really broadens your work. The only thing is that a written record of the procedures would be ideal. You often quickly forget the positions you need to use in order to do something."

  • "C. Broeders - 'This is a good course for brushing up or extending your knowledge of MS Word (2013 or another version). Most of the topics are already familiar, but you learn a lot from the course material and the exercises, and that can save you time when working with Word in practice.' - Score: 7.6"

Frequently asked questions

In the Word Advanced + Expert e-learning course you learn how to make the most of Word's advanced functions. You work with tables, images, charts, mailings, styles, templates, long documents, tables of contents, sections, tracking changes, forms and macros. The course optionally covers Word with Microsoft 365 Copilot. You get 6 months' access and work through approximately 7 hours of lesson videos and exercises per module.

You have 6 months' access to the online learning platform from the moment you start the e-learning. Each module takes around 7 hours to complete, so allow for about 14 hours of study time in total. Within those 6 months you set your own pace, you can stop and pick up again later, and you can rewatch lessons as often as you like.

No, you don't have to install any software. The e-learning runs entirely in the cloud, so you simply log in via a website and start straight away. A laptop or computer with a working internet connection is enough. You can continue working on the course at home, at the office or on the move, without having Word on your device.

The Word Advanced + Expert e-learning is suitable for anyone who has mastered the basic operations in Word and wants to learn to make the most of advanced functions. Think of secretaries, office staff, project support staff and self-employed professionals who format long documents, send mailings or manage templates. Prior knowledge at basic level is sufficient. Optionally, you also learn to work with Copilot in Word.

Yes, the Word Advanced + Expert e-learning optionally covers working with Microsoft 365 Copilot in Word. You discover how to use the AI assistant to generate, summarise and rewrite texts. In this way you combine advanced Word functionality with smart AI support. If you have a Copilot licence, you will get immediate extra value from this.

Yes, you can review the Word Advanced + Expert e-learning course as often as you like after completing it, for as long as your licence is valid. You have access to the platform for 6 months from the start date. Within that period you can repeat all 91 lesson videos, exercises and files from both modules as often as you wish. Handy for refreshing your knowledge or going over specific topics again.

An e-learning suits you if you want to work independently, set your own pace and plan flexibly around work or private life. You can start at any time, stop along the way and pick up again later. You have six months' access and each module takes around 7 hours to complete. A classroom course is a better choice if you benefit from direct interaction with a trainer, want to ask questions about your own documents, or want to work through the material in one or two days. The content of this bundle is comparable to the classroom version: tables, images, mailings, styles, templates, long documents and tracking changes. Interim assignments check whether you have mastered the material before you move on.

The Word Advanced + Expert bundle combines two modules in one programme, at a more favourable rate than the two separate e-learning courses together. Module 2 (Advanced) contains 42 lesson videos, 42 exercises and 1 file and focuses on, among other things, tables, images, charts and mailings. Module 3 (Expert) contains 49 lesson videos, 49 exercises and 4 files and covers styles, templates, long documents, sections, tables of contents, collaboration, macros and forms. The duration is approximately 7 hours per module and you have access to the platform for 6 months. Choose the standalone Advanced e-learning course if you only want to master advanced formatting and mailings. Choose the bundle if you also want to learn professional long documents, templates and collaboration functionality. The bundle optionally covers Word with Copilot.

The total duration is roughly 14 hours of self-study, spread over two modules of about 7 hours each. Module 2 contains 42 lesson videos and 42 assignments; module 3 contains 49 lesson videos, 49 assignments and 4 files with additional information. You have 6 months' access to the platform from the start date, so you set the pace yourself. In practice, you might opt for two or three one-hour sessions a week, which means you finish in about two months. If you want to go faster, you can also do it in a few intensive days. You can always stop and pick it up again later, as your progress is saved automatically. The next module only opens once you have completed an assignment successfully.

Yes, that is one of the scenarios this e-learning course handles well. Module 3 deals specifically with working on long documents: creating and editing styles, sections, tables of contents, bookmarks, footnotes, citations, indexes and the document overview. Those are precisely the features you need for reports, theses or policy documents running to dozens of pages. Module 2 adds tables, images with captions and charts, which is useful for research reports. Do you mainly write short letters or standard mailings? Then module 2 (Advanced) on its own is probably enough. If you regularly work on documents of 20+ pages, collaborate using track changes or apply formal formatting through templates, you will get the most value from the Advanced + Expert combination. Optionally, you also learn how Copilot can support you with large documents.

Yes, mailings and mail merge receive plenty of attention in module 2. You learn to create envelopes and labels, link an address list to a document and add conditional text so that recipients receive a tailored version. Working with variable fields is also covered. This goes further than a short manual or YouTube video, because 49 lesson videos and 49 assignments let you practise directly at your own pace. Compared with a classroom day, the advantage is that you can repeat sections until you have mastered them, and you have 6 months' access. If you mainly work with large mailing lists from Excel or a CRM, this part fits your day-to-day practice well. Copilot in Word is covered as an optional addition.

Copilot is an AI assistant within Word that can draft, summarise or rewrite texts based on a prompt. This e-learning focuses on the advanced and expert functionality of Word itself: styles, sections, templates, mailings, tables of contents, forms and tracking changes. The Copilot component is covered optionally and shows how to use AI as a supplement to those functions, for example to generate a first draft of a long document that you then structure yourself using styles and sections. Copilot does not replace Word skills. You need the underlying knowledge to check the output, keep formatting consistent and finish documents professionally. The combination makes you faster and more precise.
