AI is changing how you write emails, draft reports and process information. In this course you will discover how to use tools such as ChatGPT and Copilot for familiar work tasks, so that you save time without losing quality.

Description

AI tools such as ChatGPT and Microsoft Copilot are now available at almost every workplace. The question is no longer whether you will work with them, but how you use them intelligently. Many people get stuck at superficial use, while much more is possible with the right approach.

During the course you work with familiar situations from your own job. Think of summarising a long policy document, drafting a difficult email, structuring minutes or quickly producing an overview of complex information. You learn how to write good prompts, why one wording works and another does not, and how to assess AI output critically.

Alongside the practical applications, we pay attention to privacy, confidentiality and recognising errors and hallucinations. That way you not only work faster with AI, you also work responsibly. You will go home with concrete tools that you can apply on your next working day.

You will work in a more structured way, save time on recurring tasks and handle privacy and confidential information responsibly.

Target audience

This course is intended for anyone who works in an office and wants to use AI more effectively. Think of office staff, managers and team leaders, professionals in HR, communications and marketing, policy officers, consultants and support staff. No technical prior knowledge is required; experience with office software is sufficient.

Teaching method

You work in a small group under the guidance of an experienced trainer. Short explanations alternate continuously with exercises on your own laptop, so that you try out each technique immediately on recognisable work situations. There is plenty of room for your own questions and examples from your daily practice.

Prior knowledge

You do not need any specific prior knowledge. Basic computer and office software skills are enough to take part fully.

In-company

Would you like to organise this training for a whole group or several groups? This can be cost-effective. For example, we can tailor the content entirely to your organisation, and training a whole group is also cheaper.

Are you looking at large numbers of participants or a complete academy? That involves a great deal. Consider planning and communication, for example, or identifying and agreeing the objectives and content of the training. Or differences in level, feedback mechanisms and safeguarding. Fortunately, Learnit has extensive experience in this field (more than 25 years) and we are happy to help you through this process.

Frequently asked questions

You will learn how to use AI assistants such as ChatGPT and Microsoft Copilot for everyday work tasks. Think of writing emails, summarising reports, structuring minutes, analysing information and creating checklists. You will also learn to write effective prompts, critically assess AI output and handle privacy and confidential information responsibly.

The course is intended for anyone who works in an office and wants to use AI more intelligently. You do not need a technical background; basic skills with office software are sufficient.

No, you do not need any specific prior knowledge. Basic computer skills and familiarity with office software such as Word, Outlook and PowerPoint are sufficient. Previous experience with ChatGPT or Copilot is not required; we start with the basics.

You work with both. We use ChatGPT as an accessible AI assistant for a broad range of applications, and we look at Microsoft Copilot in combination with Word, Outlook and PowerPoint. This way, you learn which tool suits which task in your work best.

Yes, afterwards you will receive a Learnit certificate of attendance. This shows that you have successfully completed the AI in the Workplace course and can put the skills covered into practice.

Yes, the course is available as an in-company course for teams or departments. In that case, we tailor the content to the tools, processes and examples within your organisation. Contact us for a bespoke quotation.

Generative AI is a form of artificial intelligence that can create new content, such as text, images or summaries, based on an instruction in plain language. This is relevant for office work because many tasks (emailing, reporting, summarising, structuring) revolve around processing and producing text. Generative AI speeds up those tasks and helps you with phrasing, structure and analysis.

Prompting is the way you give instructions to AI tools. A good prompt contains clear context, a clear goal, a desired format and, where relevant, examples. The more specific your prompt, the more useful the output. That is why prompting is the most important skill for using AI effectively at work. During the course you practise various prompting techniques using familiar work tasks.

Responsible AI use means not sharing confidential or personal information with public AI tools, unless your organisation has made clear agreements about this. Preferably use business versions with data protection, such as Microsoft Copilot within a corporate environment. Anonymise data where necessary and follow your organisation's policy. In the course you will learn how to work with privacy in mind without losing the benefits of AI.

A hallucination is an answer from an AI tool that sounds convincing but is factually incorrect. For example, the model invents a source, a quotation, a name or a figure. You can spot hallucinations by checking answers against reliable sources, watching out for overly confident statements without supporting evidence and being critical of names, dates and numbers. In the course you learn how to verify AI output systematically.

AI is particularly strong at tasks involving text and structure. Think of summarising long documents, drafting emails or rewriting them in a different tone, structuring minutes, generating draft text for reports or policy documents, generating ideas during brainstorms and organising information into checklists or overviews. Routine tasks involving a lot of text are the first place where you will save time.
