Description

In this e-learning course you work on Excel at your own pace, from the basics to expert level. You receive three modules with a total of 147 instructional videos, 147 assignments and 15 files containing additional information.

You start by entering and formatting data, simple formulas and managing workbooks. After that you move on to absolute cell references, conditional formatting, charts, filters and PivotTables. In the final module you delve into advanced functions, nested conditions, array formulas, financial functions, goal seek, scenario manager and macros.

The course optionally also covers working with Microsoft 365 Copilot in Excel, so you can see how AI can support you with analyses and formulas.

You can follow the e-learning from any location with a laptop and internet connection. After the start you have nine months' access to the platform, and you should allow around seven hours per module. You can stop along the way and continue later at any time, as your progress is saved automatically.

Result

After this e-learning course you will work independently with Excel at basic, advanced and expert level. You enter data quickly, build simple to complex formulas and apply conditional formatting. You manage large tables with filters, subtotals and pivot tables, and create clear charts. Nested functions, array formulas, financial calculations, goal seek and scenarios also come easily to you. You know how to share, protect and co-edit workbooks, and you have been introduced to macros. Have you opted for the optional Copilot component? Then you will also use Microsoft 365 Copilot to analyse data and generate formulas more quickly.

Target audience

This e-learning is intended for anyone who wants to master Excel from A to Z. Whether you are just starting out or want to extend your knowledge to advanced level, you work through the basic, advanced and expert material at your own pace. Useful for professionals who work with spreadsheets every day, students who want to strengthen their digital skills and employees who want to handle data, formulas and pivot tables more efficiently.

Teaching method

You take this course entirely as e-learning. You work through interactive lesson videos at your own pace and complete assignments after each topic to check whether you have mastered the material. Only once you have sufficiently mastered a section do you move on to the next. This way you build up your knowledge step by step.

You have 9 months' access to the online platform and can start, pause and continue again at any time. Your progress is saved automatically. You can log in from anywhere with a laptop and an internet connection, because the course runs in the cloud. So there is nothing to install.

Optionally, we also give attention to working with Microsoft 365 Copilot in Excel, so that you learn how AI can help you with analyses and formulas.

Prior knowledge

You need no prior knowledge of Excel. Can you work with a computer and do you have a laptop with internet access? Then you can start right away. The course begins with the basics and builds up step by step to the more advanced functions.

Comments

You work at your own pace and have 9 months' access to the platform. Each module takes approximately 7 hours to complete. For large groups of employees a volume discount is possible; please contact us about this.

Frequently asked questions

Each module takes about 7 hours, so allow around 21 hours in total for all three modules together. After the start you have 9 months' access to the online platform, so that you can work at your own pace. You can stop along the way: your progress is saved automatically and you pick up later where you left off.

No, no prior knowledge is required for this e-learning course. The course starts with the basics (entering data, simple formulas, formatting) and builds up step by step to advanced topics such as pivot tables, nested functions, macros and scenario management. You work through three modules at your own pace and only move on to the next section once you have command of the material. A laptop with an internet connection is all you need.

The Excel Basics + Advanced + Expert e-learning is suitable for the most recent version of Excel. You do not have to install anything: the course runs entirely in the cloud. You log in via a website and can get started straight away, whether you are at home, at work or on the move. A laptop with an internet connection is all you need.

Yes, the e-learning optionally covers working with Microsoft 365 Copilot in Excel. You learn how to use the AI assistant to generate formulas, analyse data and identify patterns in tables. This part is an addition to the regular material. You need your own Microsoft 365 licence with Copilot in order to follow the examples actively.

Yes, you can pause the e-learning at any time and continue later from where you left off. Your progress is saved automatically. After starting, you have 9 months' access to the platform, so you set your own pace. Handy if you want to do the course alongside your work or in separate blocks.

The e-learning contains a total of 147 lesson videos and 147 assignments, spread across three modules. Module 1 (Basics) has 45 videos and 45 assignments, module 2 (Intermediate) 60 videos and 60 assignments, and module 3 (Expert) 42 videos and 42 assignments. In addition, each module includes 5 files with in-depth information. Each module takes approximately 7 hours to complete.

The e-learning suits you if you want to learn flexibly at your own pace, at a time and place of your choosing. You have nine months' access and work through three modules of approximately 7 hours each. You work independently with videos and exercises, and only move on once you have mastered the previous topic. A classroom course is more suitable if you prefer to ask a trainer questions directly, learn from fellow participants or need a clear daily structure to keep you going. A classroom course has a shorter lead time, but requires fixed course days. The e-learning is also attractive for employers who want to train several employees at the same time, as a volume discount is available. Would you like to learn Excel in combination with Copilot? That is covered as an option in the e-learning.

The Excel Basics + Intermediate + Expert bundle is suitable if you want to master Excel from start to finish, from entering data to pivot tables, nested conditions and macros. Across three modules you will learn to work with formulas, charts, filters, financial functions, scenario management and collaborating on workbooks. Choose the full bundle if you have done little with Excel so far and want to get to know the whole programme, or if you want to systematically refresh and expand your knowledge. Already got the basics under control? Then Excel Intermediate + Expert is a more logical choice. Do you mainly work with simple lists and formulas? In that case, Basics + Intermediate alone is often sufficient. The bundle also ties in with working with Microsoft 365 Copilot in Excel, which is covered optionally.

Module 3 focuses on the advanced calculating power and management side of Excel. You work with nested conditions (IF combined with AND, OR, NOT), array formulas and advanced functions for text, date, time and financial calculations. You also learn to use analysis tools such as Goal Seek and Scenario Manager to test outcomes against variables. On a practical level, importing and exporting data, converting files, sharing and protecting workbooks, version management and a first introduction to macros are also covered. Where modules 1 and 2 teach you to enter, format and filter data and to build pivot tables, module 3 teaches you to set up complex models and to collaborate on protected workbooks. Module 3 consists of 42 instructional videos and 42 assignments, with a total duration of approximately 7 hours.

The Excel Basics + Advanced + Expert e-learning offers a structured learning path of 147 instructional videos and 147 assignments, built up from basic to expert level. After each assignment you have to achieve a sufficient score before you can continue, so that your knowledge really sticks. On YouTube you look up a separate video for each problem, with no guarantee that your level is complete. You also receive 15 files with additional in-depth information, 9 months' access to the platform and the option to repeat everything for as long as your licence is valid. You will also work on expert topics that are rarely explained well in individual videos, such as array formulas, scenario management, goal seek and macros. Excel with Microsoft 365 Copilot is covered optionally. Choose YouTube if you have occasional questions; choose this e-learning course if you want to master Excel on a structural basis.

Whether the material sticks depends mainly on how you approach the e-learning. This bundle uses 147 lesson videos and 147 exercises spread across three modules. After each video you immediately complete an exercise in Excel itself. You can only move on to the next topic once you have sufficient command of the previous one. That is an important difference from passively watching videos on YouTube: you apply every step straight away. You have nine months' access, so you can revisit topics just before you need them in practice. Tip: schedule the e-learning just before a period in which you will really be using Excel at work. Applying what you have learned within two weeks of the lesson is the strongest way to retain knowledge. Without that application, any course fades away, whether classroom-based or online.

Microsoft 365 Copilot is the AI assistant that suggests formulas in Excel, recognises patterns in your data, generates PivotTables and proposes charts based on a prompt in natural language. You type, for example, 'create an overview of turnover by region' and Copilot builds the table or chart. The Excel Basics + Advanced + Expert e-learning covers Copilot in Excel optionally, as a supplement to the regular material. The core remains Excel itself: you learn formulas, PivotTables, conditional formatting, advanced functions and macros in the traditional way, so that you understand what is happening under the bonnet. Copilot only works if your organisation has a Microsoft 365 Copilot licence. Without a licence you simply follow the regular modules; the course does not depend on it.
