“The SQL training course was a welcome one. Thanks to this course I can move on with a better understanding of ORACLE SQL. The two course days we enjoyed were really very instructive.”
“Very good course. Excellent trainer”
“Excellent course with plenty of depth added to the basic material by a professional trainer.”
“Good course with a good progression from the basics to somewhat more complex content spread over two training days. I found it a very useful course and it is good that we also have reference material in the form of a course book and access to the website with the material from the book and practical exercises including answers.”
“You learn the basic commands for querying a database and combining tables. This tied in perfectly with the issues I come across in my daily work. I was lucky to be in a class where everyone took part with the same goals. As a result the pace was high and you didn't have to wait for other participants. It is a requirement to have some knowledge of application management and database querying, so that you can translate the content straight into daily practice.”
“SQL Basics Oracle is a course I can recommend with complete confidence. Its practical applicability is very high!”
Wherever suits you: at your office, at one of our training locations or online. You also choose the date.
Yes. Before the course we discuss with you what the group can already do, where things go wrong in practice and what should be different afterwards. The trainer uses examples and exercises from your own work.
That depends on the course. For a skills course we prefer to work with a small group, so that everyone can really practise. If more people are involved, we schedule several groups or set up a fixed programme.
You receive a fixed price for the whole group, in a tailored quote. For a group this works out cheaper than booking everyone individually. By way of comparison: a place on the scheduled course costs € 1100,- excl. VAT per participant.
Yes. For in-company courses we deliver the training in the language of your choice, Dutch or English. Mention it in your request.
Yes, every participant receives a certificate of attendance afterwards.
Via the quote form: state the course, the number of participants and roughly where and when you would like it. An adviser will then contact you.
You learn to write SQL queries independently to retrieve, filter, sort and combine data from Oracle databases. You work with Oracle SQL Developer and practise with SELECT, WHERE, JOIN, GROUP BY, subqueries and modifying data and tables.
The course is intended for novice database users who are going to work with Oracle. Think of application managers, Oracle SQL developers, database administrators, BI professionals, data analysts and software developers.
No, no prior knowledge of SQL or Oracle is required. Basic computer experience and a little logical thinking are enough to follow the course successfully.
Before the course starts you will receive a workbook with exercises and practice cases. You will use this book during the course and afterwards as a reference work. The course material and the software are in English.
Yes, afterwards you will receive a Learnit certificate of participation. This shows that you have completed the SQL Basics for Oracle course.
Yes, you practise in a real Oracle environment using Oracle SQL Developer. This means you write working queries against a live database from day one and see the result immediately.
The basics of SQL (SELECT, WHERE, JOIN, GROUP BY) are virtually the same in all databases. Oracle uses its own dialect, PL/SQL, with specific functions and syntax for dates, strings and subqueries, among other things. In this course you learn to work in that Oracle dialect using Oracle SQL Developer.
A JOIN allows you to combine data from two or more tables on the basis of a shared column. An INNER JOIN returns only those rows that appear in both tables. A LEFT OUTER JOIN retains all rows from the left-hand table, even without a match. A RIGHT OUTER JOIN does the same for the right-hand table. During the course you will practise with all three variants.
Request a quote without obligation and an adviser will get back to you shortly. With one or two colleagues? SQL Basics - Oracle is scheduled 13 times over the coming year, in Amsterdam, The Hague, Utrecht, Rotterdam, Eindhoven, Arnhem, Groningen and Zwolle.
