Visio makes complex processes, systems and structures understandable at a glance. In this course you get to know the interface and build the diagrams you need for your work yourself.

Description

You start with the layout of the Visio screen and how shapes, stencils and templates work. You then move on to practical exercises in which you build, edit and neatly print various types of diagram.

The course is suitable for Visio 2010, 2013 and 2016. When you book, you indicate which version you use, so that the planning takes this into account. Are you working with an example of your own that you are struggling with? Bring it along and you can practise with it directly during the course.

You work in a small group under the guidance of an experienced trainer, which leaves plenty of room for your questions and specific work situations.

Topics

  • Layout of the Visio screen and the interface
  • Working with standard shapes and drawing objects
  • Editing, aligning and grouping shapes
  • Placing, rotating and moving text
  • Adding extra pages and setting the order
  • Inserting images and variables
  • Creating and adapting templates
  • Printing an A3 document on A4 and vice versa

Result

After this course you will work independently with Microsoft Visio. You will know how the interface is structured, you will build diagrams using the right shapes and you will adapt templates to your own house style. From now on, you will present processes, systems and structures clearly and legibly.

Target audience

This course is intended for anyone who wants to learn to work with Visio (faster and more efficiently). Think of process managers, analysts, project staff, IT professionals, secretaries and managers who regularly create diagrams, organisation charts or floor plans and do not yet have a sufficient command of Visio's basic functions.

Teaching method

You work in a classroom setting in a small group, guided by an experienced trainer. Theory and practice alternate continuously: you learn a topic and apply it straight away in an exercise. At the start you receive a Microsoft course book with practice files, which you keep afterwards as a reference work. Because Visio 2013 and 2016 largely use English terminology, the course material is in English.

Prior knowledge

You have experience of working in a Windows environment. No specific prior knowledge of Visio is required.

Language

The training is given in Dutch as standard. The trainer has a good command of English. English-language course material can be used. With a minimum enrolment of 3 participants, the training can also be given entirely in English.
