Just moved to Microsoft 365? In one day you get to grips with Teams, OneDrive, Planner and OneNote. You learn to collaborate smartly in the cloud, share documents securely and make use of Word and Excel online. That way you really get more out of Microsoft 365.

Description

In this course you discover how to make the most of Microsoft 365 (formerly Office 365) within your organisation. You learn to work with the cloud functionalities and see how to store, share and jointly edit documents centrally, without having to manage files locally.

During this one-day course the focus is on online collaboration with OneDrive, Teams and Planner. You will gain insight into which app to use for which task, how to share documents via OneDrive and Teams, and how to record notes in OneNote. You will also work with Word and Excel in the browser, so that you can work on the same document together with colleagues.

On request, the trainer will also demonstrate the use of the individual Microsoft 365 apps. Afterwards you will know which app to use when, you will be able to work smoothly in the cloud and you will know how to collaborate online with Microsoft 365.

Topics

During this one-day course you will cover topics including:

  • What's new in Microsoft 365?
  • The apps and programs within Microsoft 365
  • Working in the cloud
  • Creating, saving and sharing documents via OneDrive
  • Planning and creating tasks in Planner
  • Adding advanced data to a task in Planner
  • Chatting, meeting and managing teams in Microsoft Teams
  • Sharing and managing documents via a video meeting and SharePoint
  • Working with notes in OneNote
  • Collaborating online in Word and Excel
  • Collaborating with Copilot and other smart features within Microsoft 365

Result

After this course you will know which Microsoft 365 programme to use for which tasks. You work smoothly in the cloud and share your files via OneDrive with colleagues inside and outside your organisation.

You will be able to independently:

  • saving, sharing and simultaneously editing documents via OneDrive
  • making plans and assigning tasks in Planner
  • chatting, meeting and collaborating in Teams
  • recording and sharing notes in OneNote
  • online collaboration in Word and Excel

You understand how the various apps fit together and how to use Microsoft 365 to work more productively and flexibly, in the office and on the move.

Target audience

This course is intended for organisations and employees who work with Microsoft 365 (formerly Office 365) and want to get more out of it.

This course suits you if:

  • You want to discover what Microsoft 365 can do for your organisation
  • You want to work with your files in the cloud, independent of time and place
  • You want to increase your productivity by using Microsoft 365 more cleverly
  • You want to know which app is best used for which task

Teaching method

During this one-day course you will work with Office 365 in an interactive way. The trainer explains the new functionalities and shows you how to apply them straight away. You will work with OneDrive, Teams, Planner and OneNote yourself, so that you get to grips with online collaboration right away.

The course alternates theory with practical exercises. You work on recognisable examples from day-to-day practice, so that you can quickly apply what you have learned to your own working situation. Do you have specific questions about one of the Office programmes? The trainer can provide additional explanation or a demonstration on request.

You train in a small group, which leaves plenty of room for personal guidance and your own input. Afterwards you will receive a certificate of participation.

Prior knowledge

You do not need any specific prior knowledge to take part in this course. Do you occasionally work with programmes such as Word or Excel and can you find your way around a computer? Then you have enough basic knowledge to master Office 365.

Comments

None in particular.

In-company

Would you like to organise this training for a whole group or several groups? This can be cost-effective. For example, we can tailor the content entirely to your organisation, and training a whole group is also cheaper.

Are you looking at large numbers of participants or a complete academy? That involves a great deal. Consider planning and communication, for example, or identifying and agreeing the objectives and content of the training. Or differences in level, feedback mechanisms and safeguarding. Fortunately, Learnit has extensive experience in this field (more than 25 years) and we are happy to help you through this process.

    Frequently asked questions

The Office 365 course lasts one day. You take the course in a classroom setting, guided by an experienced trainer and in a small group. In a single course day you learn to work with Microsoft 365 apps such as OneDrive, Teams, Planner and OneNote, and you discover how to collaborate on documents in Word and Excel online. The current price can be found on the Learnit course page.

On the Office 365 course you learn to collaborate in the cloud with OneDrive, Teams, Planner and OneNote. You discover which app to use for which task, how to share and manage documents, and how to work together online in Word and Excel. After this classroom-based day you will work more productively with Microsoft 365 within your organisation.

The Office 365 course is suitable for employees and organisations that have recently moved to Microsoft 365 and want to make the most of its potential. No specific prior education is required, but a basic knowledge of Office programs such as Word and Excel is useful. This one-day classroom course is aimed at anyone who wants to collaborate more productively in the cloud.

During the Office 365 course you work with the main apps for online collaboration: OneDrive for cloud storage, Microsoft Teams for chatting and meetings, Planner for tasks, and OneNote for notes. You will also learn how to collaborate online in Word and Excel. On request, the trainer will demonstrate additional Office programmes. This way you know exactly which app to use for which tasks.

No specific prior knowledge is required for the Office 365 course, but basic experience with Office programs such as Word and Excel is useful. The course is aimed at users who have just moved to Office 365 and want to get to know the new possibilities. In one classroom day you receive practical explanations about collaborating in the cloud with OneDrive, Teams and Planner.

Yes, on completion of the Office 365 course you will receive a certificate of participation. This certificate confirms that you attended the one-day classroom course and gained knowledge of OneDrive, Teams, Planner and online collaboration in Word and Excel, among other things. You can use the certificate to demonstrate your skills within your organisation or on your CV.

A classroom course works best if you want to roll out Office 365 across the whole organisation and have to make decisions about ways of working: where do you save files, how do you use Teams channels, when do you use Planner and when OneNote. You do not learn to weigh up such choices from separate YouTube clips. The Learnit course lasts one day and is taught in the classroom. You practise with OneDrive, Teams, Planner, OneNote and online collaboration in Word and Excel, and you can ask the trainer to demonstrate specific features. Self-study or e-learning is fine if you want to look up a single feature. If you want to set up a workable way of collaborating in the cloud in one day, a classroom course is more efficient.

The Office 365 course is an overarching one-day course that teaches you which programme to use for which task within Microsoft 365. OneDrive, Teams, Planner, OneNote and online collaboration in Word and Excel are covered in relation to one another. A separate Teams or OneDrive course goes into greater depth on a single application and covers advanced features within that one programme. Choose the Office 365 course if your organisation has just made the switch and you want an overview of the entire collaboration landscape. Choose a specific Teams or OneDrive course if you already have a good grasp of the basics and want to go into depth in that programme alone. The Office 365 course lasts one day and is taught in a classroom setting.

Many users waste time because they choose the wrong programme: an email for something that belongs in Teams, an Excel file on the local drive instead of OneDrive, or a task list in Word instead of Planner. Learnit's Office 365 course explicitly covers which programme suits which activity. You learn when to use OneDrive, Teams, Planner, OneNote, Word or Excel, and how these tools work together in the cloud. The course lasts one day and is classroom-based. Afterwards you will be able to share documents via OneDrive, plan tasks in Planner, hold meetings and chat in Teams, and collaborate online in Word and Excel. On request, the trainer will demonstrate specific programmes from your own working practice.

Microsoft Learn is free and thorough, but you work through separate modules per app on your own. What you miss is the overview: which programme do you use for which type of work? An internal key user knows your organisation, but often knows one or two apps in depth rather than the connections between OneDrive, Teams, Planner, OneNote, Word and Excel. The classroom course from Learnit lasts one day and deals with exactly those connections: cloud storage, online collaboration and task management in a single story. You can ask questions about your own work situation, and on request the trainer can demonstrate specific Office programs. Choose Microsoft Learn for in-depth study per app, and this course for a structured overview in one day.

Yes, provided you want to start collaborating actively in the cloud. The course focuses explicitly on the collaboration side of Microsoft 365: OneDrive, Teams, Planner and OneNote, plus online co-authoring in Word and Excel. If you currently work mainly locally and send documents around by email, the course will pay off immediately. You learn to share documents instead of emailing versions, to assign tasks via Planner and to meet and chat in Teams. If you already use these collaboration apps daily and are looking for in-depth knowledge of one specific app, a separate Teams or Excel course makes more sense. The course lasts one day and is classroom-based. The focus is on breadth and coherence, not on in-depth expertise per app.

Yes, the Office 365 course lends itself well to an in-company format, particularly when an organisation has recently moved to Microsoft 365. The course takes one day and is delivered in a classroom setting. In an in-company format, the entire team attends on the same day, which speeds up adoption: afterwards, everyone works to the same conventions in OneDrive, Teams and Planner. On request, the trainer can demonstrate the use of specific Office programs, tailored to the working processes within your organisation. This is usually more efficient than having staff work out individually how documents are shared, or where Teams stops and SharePoint begins.
