1.3 Software

To build a website, and therefore to follow this online course, you need a simple text editor. Fortunately, every computer has such a simple text editor. On a Windows computer, the Start menu contains, under the heading desk accessories the program Notepad. This is very suitable for typing code because it has no formatting options such as bold or italic unlike Microsoft Word. There are also all kinds of free text editors available to download for both Windows and Apple computers. A well-known program for Windows is Notepad++ and a well-known program for the Apple is Textwrangler. The images used in this course are from an Apple computer, but for learning to work with HTML and CSS it makes no difference whether you work on an Apple computer or on a Windows computer.

Tip: if working through this online HTML and CSS course has made you enthusiastic, it may be a good idea to hold on to that enthusiasm. You can then register straight away for the course HTML and CSS Basics or the HTML and CSS Advanced to expand your skills. With professional support, of course.

Learnit wishes you every success and, above all, plenty of enjoyment!
