You work with financial figures every day and want to use Excel more intelligently. In this course you combine business economics knowledge with the powerful functions of Excel, so that your analyses become faster, sharper and clearer.

Description

As a finance professional you process large volumes of data. Excel is your most important tool for this, but often you use only a small part of what the programme can do. In this course you learn how to use Excel for business economics calculations and analyses, from cost price to capacity.

You work with practical cases that match your daily work. Think of drawing up a business plan, carrying out a ratio analysis and making decision calculations. You learn formulas, functions and techniques that you apply directly to your own figures.

Afterwards you will know how to translate financial questions into clear models in Excel. You will report more clearly, calculate faster and have a firmer grip on the figures behind the decisions.

Topics

  • Drawing up a business plan in Excel
  • Carrying out ratio analysis on financial data
  • Recognising and processing cost types
  • Setting up cost price calculations
  • Carrying out variance analysis between budget and actuals
  • Carrying out capacity calculations
  • Drawing up decision calculations
  • Optimising analyses and presentations with charts and pivot tables

Result

After the course you use Excel purposefully for business economics questions. You carry out ratio analyses, calculate cost prices and produce well-founded decision calculations. You report clearly and save time in your daily work with figures.

Target audience

This course is suitable for financial staff, controllers, business specialists and analysts who work with figures and Excel on a regular basis. You already have experience with Excel and want to use the programme more effectively for financial and business economics analyses.

Teaching method

You work in a small group under the guidance of an experienced trainer. Theory and practice alternate, with plenty of room for your own questions and exercises on your own laptop. You apply the material directly to recognisable cases from financial practice.

Prior knowledge

You have a basic knowledge of Excel and an affinity with financial figures and business economic concepts.

Language

The training is given in Dutch as standard. The trainer has a good command of English. English-language course material can be used. With a minimum enrolment of 3 participants, the training can also be given entirely in English.
