Where does the in-company Agile Scrum: the Scrum Master course take place?
Wherever suits you: at your office, at one of our training locations or online. You also choose the date.
Can the content be tailored to our organisation?
Yes. Before the course we discuss with you what the group can already do, where things go wrong in practice and what should be different afterwards. The trainer uses examples and exercises from your own work.
How large can the group be?
That depends on the course. For a skills course we prefer to work with a small group, so that everyone can really practise. If more people are involved, we schedule several groups or set up a fixed programme.
What does Agile Scrum: the Scrum Master in-company cost?
You receive a fixed price for the whole group, in a tailored quote. For a group this works out cheaper than booking everyone individually. By way of comparison: a place on the scheduled course costs € 1300,- excl. VAT per participant.
Can the course be delivered in English?
Yes. For in-company courses we deliver the training in the language of your choice, Dutch or English. Mention it in your request.
Do participants receive a certificate?
Yes, every participant receives a certificate of attendance afterwards.
How do I request a quote?
Via the quote form: state the course, the number of participants and roughly where and when you would like it. An adviser will then contact you.
How long does the Scrum Master course take and what do I get for it?
The Scrum Master course at Learnit takes two consecutive days. You are taught in a classroom setting by an experienced trainer in a small group. The course materials, the Scrum games and the publication 'Succes met Scrum' are included. The optional Exin Scrum Master exam is taken online by yourself and falls outside the course. For the current price, see the course page.
What prior knowledge do you need for the Scrum Master course?
No specific prior knowledge is required for the Scrum Master course. It is useful, however, if you have an affinity with project-based working or lead teams. The course is aimed at team leaders, project managers, senior team members and anyone who fulfils or aspires to the role of Scrum Master. Basic knowledge of Agile is an advantage, but the course starts with a general introduction to Scrum.
Is the Scrum Master course classroom-based or online?
Learnit's Scrum Master course is taught in the classroom by an experienced trainer. You work in a small group on a Scrum project and learn the material through Scrum games and practical exercises. This face-to-face delivery format means you gain practical experience straight away and can discuss questions directly with your trainer and fellow participants.
What course material and certificate do you receive with the Scrum Master course?
With the Scrum Master course you receive various Scrum games and the publication 'Succes met Scrum' as course material. Afterwards you receive a certificate of attendance from Learnit. If you would also like to obtain an official certificate, you can sit the Exin Scrum Master exam online from home. Please indicate this in the comments field when you book.
Who is the Scrum Master course intended for?
The Scrum Master course is intended for team leaders, project managers and senior team members who fulfil the role of Scrum Master or are in line to do so. You are also welcome if you simply want to learn more about the tasks and responsibilities of a Scrum Master. You work in the classroom on a real Scrum project, so you gain practical experience within a team straight away.
Can the Scrum Master course also be taken in-company?
Yes, the Scrum Master course can be taken in-company at a location of your choice. That is worth considering if you want to train a whole team at once or tailor the content to a current project. The course is taught in the classroom by an experienced trainer, with Scrum games that let you gain practical experience straight away within your own context.
What is the difference between the role of Scrum Master and that of a traditional project manager?
A project manager steers on schedule, budget and scope, and assigns tasks to team members. A Scrum Master works differently: you do not direct, you facilitate. You guide the team, safeguard the Scrum process and remove impediments that hold the team back. Responsibility for what is built lies with the Product Owner. How it is built lies with the team itself. In Learnit's Scrum Master course you learn this servant leadership attitude through Scrum games and a simulated Scrum project. Specifically, you practise facilitating the Sprint planning, the daily standup, the Sprint review and the retrospective. Choose this course if you want to move from classic project management to a role in which you coach teams rather than direct them.
How does this Scrum Master course differ from reading through the Scrum Guide on your own?
The Scrum Guide is a document of around 13 pages that describes the framework, but offers no practical experience. In this classroom-based course you practise the Scrum Master role through a real Scrum project and Scrum games. You go through a Sprint planning, daily standup, Sprint review and retrospective yourself, under the guidance of an experienced trainer. You also learn how to remove impediments and work with the Product Owner. These are situations you cannot practise from a text. You receive the book 'Succes met Scrum' as a reference work. Self-study is sufficient if you only want to understand the framework. This course is intended for when you are actually going to fulfil the role and want feedback on your own behaviour in the Scrum events.
