Yes. Before the course we discuss with you what the group can already do, where things go wrong in practice and what should be different afterwards. The trainer uses examples and exercises from your own work.
That depends on the course. For a skills course we prefer to work with a small group, so that everyone can really practise. If more people are involved, we schedule several groups or set up a fixed programme.
You get a fixed price for the whole group, in a tailored quote. For a group this works out cheaper than booking everyone individually. For comparison: a place on the scheduled course costs EUR 1250,- excl. VAT per participant.
Yes. For in-company courses we deliver the training in the language of your choice, Dutch or English. Mention it in your request.
Yes, every participant receives a certificate of attendance afterwards.
Via the quote form: state the course, the number of participants and roughly where and when you would like it. An adviser will then contact you.
You learn how to get a grip on your department's figures as a manager. You translate organisational objectives into SMART targets, work with critical success factors and KPIs, and use tools such as EFQM and the Balanced Scorecard. You also learn to plan capacity, draw up implementation plans and account for your departmental policy.
The course is intended for managers and team leaders who run a department and want to manage it in a more figure-based way. If you already work with instruments such as personal development plans and want to develop your management skills further, the course is a good fit.
No specific prior knowledge is required. Work experience as a team leader or manager is a condition, however, because during the course you work with cases and assignments from your own working situation.
The course consists of two course days. The exact schedule and delivery format can be found on this course page. In-company or bespoke delivery is also possible, in which case we tailor the duration and set-up to your requirements.
Yes, on completion you will receive a Learnit certificate of attendance. This confirms that you have fully completed the Managing by Numbers course.
Yes, this course is also available as an in-company or bespoke programme. We tailor the content, examples and cases to your organisation and department, so that what you learn ties in directly with your day-to-day practice.
Critical success factors (CSFs) are the areas in which your department has to excel in order to achieve its objectives. KPIs, key performance indicators, are the measurable variables you use to track whether you are on course. CSFs therefore describe the ‘what’, while KPIs make it measurable. In the course you will learn to apply both purposefully within your department.
SMART stands for Specific, Measurable, Acceptable, Realistic and Time-bound. A good departmental objective is concrete ('we will reduce the lead time from X to Y'), has a measuring point, is supported by the team, is achievable within the available capacity, and has a clear deadline. During the course you practise formulating SMART objectives based on your own organisational goals.
