Description
In this Illustrator CC Basics course you will get to know the complete working environment of Illustrator, the standard for creating vector images. You will work with objects, shapes, paths and the Pen tool, and you will learn to draw, transform and combine.
You will work with colours, gradients, text and layers, and discover how to trace images and build compound paths. You will also learn how to create a print-ready PDF file. Along the way you will pick up practical tips and tricks that make your work in Illustrator faster and more accurate.
The course follows the open learning format. This means that the pace, the order and the depth of the topics are matched to your own learning objectives and prior knowledge. You work independently on assignments, with an experienced trainer directly available for explanation and feedback.

Result
After this course you work independently in Illustrator and create your own vector illustrations. You draw shapes, edit paths with the Pen tool and combine objects into a coherent design. You apply colours, gradients and typography in your work and deliver your files print-ready as PDFs. This allows you to design your own logos, icons and illustrations that stay sharp at any size.
Target audience
This course is intended for anyone with little or no experience of Illustrator who wants to learn how to create vector images such as illustrations and logos. Even if you have no specific application in mind yet and simply want to discover what is possible, this is the right place for you. You work with the latest version of the software.

Teaching method
You take this training course according to the Open Learning format. This means that you work at your own pace on the topics that matter to you. An experienced trainer is present all day to guide you, answer your questions and help you further wherever you get stuck.
You work with a clearly structured course book and accompanying exercise files. This lets you get started right away with practical assignments and build up your knowledge step by step. Because you are in a small group, you get plenty of personal attention and can tailor the content to your own learning objectives.
Prior knowledge
You do not need any specific prior knowledge for this course. Can you use a computer and do you know how to open a program and save files? Then you can get started straight away. Experience with Illustrator or graphic design is not required.

Can I cancel free of charge?
Yes. Up to four weeks before the first day of the course you can cancel free of charge, without giving a reason. You then receive a credit note or, if you have already paid, a refund. If you cancel later, you pay part of the course fee: 25% between four and two weeks before the start, 75% in the two weeks before it and 100% in the final week. Moving to another start date is free of charge up to two weeks before the start, after that 50%. Sending a colleague in your place is always possible. Read the cancellation terms.
