In brief. Agile Scrum: the Product Owner is a 2-day classroom course. You can take it in Amsterdam, Utrecht, The Hague and Groningen, among other places, or online, in a group of no more than 8 participants. The price is € 1300,- excl. The Product Owner is the visionary behind the product. You know what the customer needs, set the priorities and make sure the team delivers value. That calls for vision, communication and the nerve to make choices. In this course you will learn how to fulfil that role within a Scrum team. You will work on a product vision, practise with the backlog and discover how to keep stakeholders involved. Practice is central, so that you can apply what you have learned straight away.
Description
Scrum is a method for making complex projects manageable. It is one of the Agile ways of working and has its roots in Toyota's Lean philosophy. The essence? Short cycles, quick feedback and clear communication between the team, the client and the organisation.
This course focuses on the role of the Product Owner. Alongside a solid introduction to Scrum, you will look in more depth at what is expected of you as a Product Owner. You will learn how to develop a product vision, how to draw up and maintain a backlog, and how to set priorities based on value for the customer.
You will be given practical tools for working effectively with the Scrum Master and the team without taking over their role. You will also learn how to identify stakeholders and keep them involved. By the end of the course you will know how to monitor the project and draw up a realistic release plan.

This course is intended for anyone who fulfils the role of Scrum Product Owner within their organisation, or who will shortly be taking on that role. And if you simply want to know more about what a Product Owner does and how this role contributes to the success of a Scrum team, you are equally welcome. Prior knowledge of Scrum is helpful, but not a strict requirement.
Teaching method
The course is classroom-based and taught by an experienced trainer. You do not just take in theory; you work with the material directly through a real Scrum project during the lessons. Much of what you learn you make your own through Scrum games. These games make abstract concepts tangible and ensure a varied and energetic course. Because the group is small, you can count on personal attention and the content is tailored to the wishes and background of the participants.
Prior knowledge
Some basic knowledge of Scrum is useful in order to follow the course properly. You do not need experience as a Product Owner, but it helps if you know what sprints, backlogs and stand-ups are. The course is given in Dutch as standard. The trainer speaks English. English-language course materials can be used. If at least 3 participants register, the course can also be given entirely in English.

Can I cancel free of charge?
Yes. Up to four weeks before the first day of the course you can cancel free of charge, without giving a reason. You then receive a credit note or, if you have already paid, a refund. If you cancel later, you pay part of the course fee: 25% between four and two weeks before the start, 75% in the two weeks before it and 100% in the final week. Moving to another start date is free of charge up to two weeks before the start, after that 50%. Sending a colleague in your place is always possible. Read the cancellation terms.

The course is built around a real Scrum project. You receive theory, followed by practical assignments and Scrum games in which you apply the material directly. Topics such as product vision, backlog management, stakeholder management and release planning are covered in detail.
What is the delivery format?
The course is classroom-based and taught in a small group. You work closely with other participants and apply the theory directly in exercises and Scrum games. This makes the material stick and keeps the course varied.
Who teaches the course?
The course is delivered by an experienced Scrum trainer with extensive practical experience as a Product Owner or Scrum Master. Our trainers not only pass on knowledge, but also share practical examples and help you answer questions from your own working situation.
What do I get after the course?
Afterwards you will receive a Learnit certificate as proof of participation. You also have the option of sitting the online Exin Scrum Product Owner exam yourself at home. During the course you will generally gain enough knowledge to complete this exam successfully.
How can I prepare?
Read up on the basics of Scrum, for example via the Scrum Guide. Also think about a product or project from your own work that you would like to get to grips with during the course. That way you can apply the theory directly to a familiar situation.

Do I receive a certificate?
Yes, on completing the course you will receive a Learnit certificate as proof of participation. Would you like to be officially certified? In that case you can sit the online Scrum Product Owner exam from Exin at home.
