In this e-learning you become acquainted with the basic functionalities of SharePoint, the platform with which you collaborate digitally and share information within a team or organisation. You learn how to build sites, set up libraries and add apps such as documents, contacts and calendars. Optionally, the course also covers SharePoint in combination with Microsoft 365 Copilot, so that you experience how AI can support your work in SharePoint.

You work through an online learning environment with clear explanations, step-by-step demonstrations and practical assignments. The topics covered include the SharePoint interface, creating a team site, working with lists and libraries, views, pages, permissions and navigation. You take the course at your own pace, from any device with an internet connection.

You take this course entirely as e-learning. You log in via a website and work through the modules at your own pace, from any device with an internet connection. For each topic you receive explanations, step-by-step demonstrations in SharePoint and practical assignments with which you can practise straight away. This allows you to build up your knowledge calmly, without travelling time and at times that suit you. You work through the optional module on SharePoint with Copilot in the same way.

Prior knowledge

You do not need any specific prior knowledge to start this e-learning course. Basic computer skills and some experience with the internet and Office programmes are enough to get off to a quick start.

Anyone who works through the modules in a week and practises in a test environment at the same time can usually set up a basic team site with a document library, calendar and tasks within a few days. More complex scenarios, such as custom lists, views or a well-considered permission structure, require more practice. One important condition: you need access to a SharePoint environment in which you have site creation rights. Without those rights you can follow the steps, but you cannot carry them out yourself.
What exactly can I do with Copilot in SharePoint, and why should I include that module?
Copilot in SharePoint is the AI assistant that helps you find information and build sites more quickly. Practical examples: you ask Copilot for a summary of documents in a library, have a draft page generated on the basis of existing content, or ask questions about policies and minutes without having to search yourself. In this e-learning, Copilot is an optional module on top of the basic SharePoint material. You choose this addition if your organisation has a Microsoft 365 Copilot licence and you work with SharePoint content on a daily basis. For anyone who only wants to learn how to manage sites and libraries, the module is not necessary. The basic material stands apart from Copilot and remains fully usable without an AI licence.
