With Word Advanced you take your documents to a professional level. You work with styles, templates, mailings and macros, and optionally discover how Copilot supports you in formatting and writing in Word.
In this course you build on your basic knowledge of Word and learn to use the programme for professional documents. You will work with styles, templates, an automatic table of contents, headers and footers, and mailings using mail merge. Cross-references, footnotes and endnotes, master and subdocuments, forms and macros are also covered.
The course optionally covers Word in combination with Microsoft 365 Copilot, so that you can see how to use AI when drafting and editing text.
You follow the course in an open learning format over one day, working at your own pace under the guidance of an experienced trainer. You may bring along an example from your own practice so that you can work specifically on your own working situation.
After this course you will work confidently with Word's advanced features. You will create professional documents using styles, templates and an automatic table of contents. You will set up mailings via mail merge, work with long documents and automate recurring tasks with macros. You will also know how to optionally combine Word with Microsoft 365 Copilot to write faster and more intelligently.
This course is intended for anyone who already works with Word and wants to get more out of the programme. You know the basics and now want to produce professional documents using styles, templates, mailings and automation. Useful for secretaries, management assistants, policy officers and anyone who regularly produces large or complex documents.
You follow this course in our open learning format: a full course day on which you work with Word in a small group. You work through the course material at your own pace, while an experienced trainer is on hand for explanations, questions and feedback.
At the start of the day you discuss with the trainer what your entry level is and which topics are important to you. That way you put the emphasis exactly on the functions you use in your work. You practise straight away with real-world assignments and you may also bring along a document of your own to work with.
During the day you optionally cover Word in combination with Microsoft 365 Copilot, so that you can see how AI makes your documents faster and smarter.
You can already type, format and save a text in Word. No other specific prior knowledge is required. Have you been working with Word for a while and want to get more out of it? Then this course is a good fit.
None in particular.
This training is offered on the basis of our Open Learning teaching method. This means that you work independently, with active guidance from our trainer, to master the material. That way you can achieve your learning objectives at your own pace, without being held back by fellow participants working faster or slower. The trainer makes sure that you stay on schedule and meet your learning objectives. This form of learning leaves room for a tailored approach. You have the opportunity to bring in examples from your own practice and IT environment, so that your learning is even more specific. more...
The course is given in Dutch as standard. The trainer speaks English. English-language course materials can be used. If at least 3 participants register, the course can also be given entirely in English.
Would you like to organise this training for a whole group or several groups? This can be cost-effective. For example, we can tailor the content entirely to your organisation, and training a whole group is also cheaper.
Are you looking at large numbers of participants or a complete academy? That involves a great deal. Consider planning and communication, for example, or identifying and agreeing the objectives and content of the training. Or differences in level, feedback mechanisms and safeguarding. Fortunately, Learnit has extensive experience in this field (more than 25 years) and we are happy to help you through this process.
2 training days. Confirmed dates first, then in order of date.
No suitable start date? Send us a date request, and we'll look at the options together.
Plan your own group on a date that suits you, at your office, at our premises or online. We tailor the content to your day-to-day work, and training a whole group is cheaper than individual bookings.
Ratings from participants after completing their course, across all courses by this trainer.
“The fact that you work with your own material and that the trainer can help you well with it really appealed to me, as did working practically with the subject matter.”
“Learning at your own pace with good support!”
“The course gave me far more than I expected. It's going to save me a lot of time in practice, so I can definitely recommend it!”
“Excellent impression, learned a great deal! I have been able to put what I learned into practice almost immediately!”
“A useful course for brushing up and refreshing my knowledge, and I have certainly benefited from it. Now all that remains is to put it into practice and get things properly organised internally!”
“Good training, useful and recommendable”
"C. Broeders - </>'This is a good course for brushing up or extending your knowledge of MS Word (2013 or another version). Most of the topics are already familiar, but you learn a great deal from the course material and the exercises, and that can save you time when working with Word in practice.' - Rating: 7.6"
"I am/was used to following a course or programme as part of a group. With this method, you get started on your own after a brief round of introductions. The coursebook is clearly and logically structured. You also get to take the CD-ROM home with you so you can practise more if needed. You decide your own pace and which parts you give extra attention and want to practise further. Even though I always learn a lot from others when topics are covered and discussed in a classroom setting, I found this method very useful."
“It ties in with your own working situation. The two days of training gave me a great deal of knowledge. I'm already looking forward to my next course.”
"I took the "Word 2010 Advanced" course. On top of the basic knowledge I already had of Word, this is a valuable addition to my daily work at the secretariat. I was trained years ago on the Office 2003 package, and Office 2010 does differ quite a lot from the 2003 version, which means it often takes more time to find out where they have hidden that one button or function this time. I will certainly be putting a lot of it into practice and I learned many new things (including things I thought I already knew well!)."
"I learned a great deal and the material is easy to apply in practice."
“The pace of the lessons is fine, because you can adapt it to your own speed.”

“A pleasant course for learning the basics of Word at your own pace and according to your own wishes. And you can always ask questions.”
“Learning at your own pace with good support!”
“Good, useful training course with plenty of handy tips & advice.”
"A clear course with clear explanations in the book. An excellent reference work. A trainer who initially puts you on the wrong track, but who does prompt you to try things out for yourself straight away. If you get stuck, it is resolved expertly with a clear explanation."
“Great to discover, even after years of work experience, what Word turns out to be capable of!”
“I was extremely pleased with the Word 2010 course. Working at your own pace and in a relaxed atmosphere was something I found very pleasant.”
“The pace of the lessons is fine, because you can adapt it to your own speed.”
“The Word Tips and Tricks course makes you aware of everything that is possible for adding tidiness and creativity to your documents in practice. Knowing what the options are is a first step. Remembering everything is harder. But you can look that up, and we should still be getting an overview of the topics covered. So that step by step you can learn, use and retain whatever applies to you. The trainer was excellent!”
