Agile project management delivers results quickly in short sprints. In this 2-day course you get to grips with the Agile philosophy, scrum roles and useful tools such as MoSCoW and timeboxing. After that you are ready for the official Foundation exam.
Agile project management is a popular and effective way of working on projects. Projects are delivered in small, manageable steps (sprints). As a project manager, you steer an Agile project differently from traditional methods such as PRINCE2.
In this two-day Agile Project Management Foundation course you will be introduced to the philosophy and basic principles of Agile and Scrum. You will learn which roles, responsibilities and team structures belong to an Agile project team, and how to apply the Agile Framework in practice. You will also work with aids and tools such as the MoSCoW method and timeboxing.
After completing the course, you will be able to manage projects flexibly, respond quickly and achieve the maximum project result within a short lead time. You will also be well prepared for the official Agile Project Management Foundation exam.
The Agile Project Management Foundation course covers topics including:
Day 1. Introduction to Agile project management
Day 2. Getting started with Agile project management
After this two-day course you will know the philosophy, principles and processes of Agile project management and how Agile relates to more traditional methods such as PRINCE2. You will know the team roles within a scrum team and which Agile techniques, aids and tools to use in which situation.
You will be able to manage projects yourself according to the Agile Framework, set priorities using the MoSCoW method and structure your work with timeboxing. You will recognise risks in an Agile project and know how to limit them. You will also be well prepared for the official Agile Project Management Foundation exam.
The Agile Project Management Foundation course has been developed for project managers in an Agile environment. The course is also of interest to information managers, business analysts, functional designers, product developers and software engineers who work in Agile teams or will shortly start doing so.
During this two-day course you will alternate theory with plenty of practice. You will work with examples from your own working situation and apply the Agile principles directly in exercises and assignments. This way you will experience how sprints, scrum roles and tools such as the MoSCoW method and timeboxing work in practice.
You take the course in a small group, guided by an experienced trainer with extensive practical experience in Agile project management. There is plenty of room for questions, discussion and exchanging experiences with other participants. You receive up-to-date course material and, afterwards, a certificate of participation. Would you like to be officially certified? You can book the accompanying exam separately.
No specific prior knowledge is required for this course. Some experience of working on projects or in project teams is useful, but not a requirement. Are you interested in Agile and do you want to manage projects more flexibly? Then you can simply join.
Would you like to become certified? You can book the accompanying EXIN Agile Project Management Foundation exam with us directly. The exam costs €90.00 (excl. VAT). You schedule the exam online at a time that suits you and take it from home or the office. During the exam you are monitored by a proctor via webcam and microphone. Please indicate in the comments field on the registration form that you wish to book the exam.
Would you like to organise this training for a whole group or several groups? This can be cost-effective. For example, we can tailor the content entirely to your organisation, and training a whole group is also cheaper.
Are you looking at large numbers of participants or a complete academy? That involves a great deal. Consider planning and communication, for example, or identifying and agreeing the objectives and content of the training. Or differences in level, feedback mechanisms and safeguarding. Fortunately, Learnit has extensive experience in this field (more than 25 years) and we are happy to help you through this process.
The training is given in Dutch as standard. The trainer has a good command of English. English-language course material can be used. With a minimum enrolment of 3 participants, the training can also be given entirely in English.
At Learnit you will always find a course that takes you further. From (technical) IT skills to communication or personal leadership. You can also choose the training format that suits you best: a classroom course, a tailor-made course at your own office, an online course or an e-learning. We have the right course and the right format for everyone. Because learning in the way that suits you best delivers the best results.
Personal attention and a pleasant atmosphere. Whether you take a course with us, at your office or on your own PC, we make sure you feel at home enough to push your boundaries.
New opportunities arise when you get moving. Stay sharp. Keep taking new steps. We encourage you to take the plunge and really go for it.
Discover something new. Build on your strengths. And choose your own path. We help you grow with training courses and learning formats that genuinely suit you.
We always think in terms of possibilities and win-win. And every day we work on new solutions for tomorrow. By offering training courses that leave you well prepared for the future.
We don't make empty promises. What we do offer is quality, knowledge and experience. A broad range of courses, made possible by our inspired staff and trainers.
We listen to what matters to you. To what you need. Because that is where our solution, our tailored approach, begins. Understanding each other properly and communicating clearly: that is what we believe in.
Taking a training course at Learnit means learning together. Together with your experienced trainer, together with your course group or together with your colleagues. And whether you take the training at home, at your office or at one of our training locations, we are always available to help you. To share our knowledge with you in a way that is genuinely useful to you. Getting further together through personal attention and understanding each other well; that is what we believe in.
Learning theory from a book that you can then hardly use in your work? Not at Learnit! Whichever training you take with us, you can put it to use at your workplace straight away. Because of the unique learning objectives you set together with the trainer at the start of the training. Because of the alternation between theory and (interactive) practical assignments. And by bringing the challenges you face in your daily work along to the training.
No suitable start date? Send us a date request. Then we will look together at how we can still meet your training needs.

“Professional, knowledgeable, with an eye not only for the course content but also for what is going on within the organisation concerned.”
R. de Koning. Regionale Huisartsenpost Drechtsteden- Project Management
“The course provides both a sound theoretical basis and its practical application. This is done through a well-structured treatment of the material combined with some case studies to put it into practice. Ultimately you want the subject matter to become second nature, rather than a trick you have learned. They have found a good method for that. The small group size is also very pleasant. Plenty of room for personal questions.”
J. de Jonge- Project Management
“A very useful course for people who, as project managers, want to bring proper order to their work”
A. van 't Veld, De Vlieg- Project Management
"A good course with plenty of practical examples. Learning objectives were set on day 1 and covered for each participant. Very applicable to my current situation and to all the problems everyone comes across personally in their project life."
- Project Management
“Thinking carefully beforehand about what I wanted to achieve myself and about the content the course offers meant that I learned from this course what I expected to. There were also points I had given less thought to previously that have now become very clear to me, allowing me to avoid pitfalls.”
L. van Zuylen, BISC - Project Management
“The project management course is an absolute must for people working within projects, whether they are project leaders or team members. The material covered is certainly very applicable in practice for us... the SMART formulation in particular can be applied anywhere.”
Patrick Spuij, High Security B.V. - Project Management and Project-based Working
"A complete and compact training course in project management from an experienced trainer. The knowledge is directly applicable and not dependent on any particular methodology. Highly recommended as an introductory course in this field!"
I. van Bemmelm, Joint Institute for VLBI ERIC - Project Management
"Because of his approach, I can wholeheartedly recommend this trainer as someone who will expertly help you become more at home in the practice of project management."
- Project Management
“Learnit's project management course gives a good insight into the process steps and the decision points for each phase. The subject matter is fairly complex, but thanks in part to the trainer's sound, enthusiastic and thorough approach, you are guided nicely through the steps of working on a project basis.”
Theo van Daalhoff, Gemeente Den Haag- Project Management
"Good training course, clear course material and well explained by the trainer. Highly applicable. Because you use your own case, it is easy to follow and to apply."
- Project Management
“For project leaders/project managers who are just starting out, this is an extremely useful course. Working in phases and in a structured way is central to it. The tricks of the trade for working on a project basis are all covered. For more experienced PLs/PMs it is also a useful course as a refresher or as confirmation (or adjustment) of the working methods they already have in place.”
Marco Spackler, Kenz-Figee - Project Management
“As a newcomer to this field, I found it an instructive and good course. The trainer mainly used the theory as a framework for practice. The focus was on thinking through a possible project. By mapping out and describing everything properly beforehand, it becomes so much easier to carry out a project. The trainer was an old hand who had a firm command of the material. He was able to improvise during the sessions and was open to questions arising from his participants' own working practice. On top of that, he was very pleasant company! I regard this course as a good foundation for anyone starting out as a project leader.”
F.L.M. Groot Koerkamp, Kiskadee- Project Management
“A substantively strong and practice-oriented course in which all the points I raised beforehand were covered in detail. The alternation between theory and practice was pleasant and immediately applicable. Thanks to Hans's extensive practical experience, I picked up valuable tips and learned to look at everyday work challenges in a different way. The course was excellently run, well organised and the contact was pleasant. As an addition, I would like to see soft skills practised through role-play as well.”
N. Smit - Retail Solutions- Project Management
“the trainer in particular is what I would recommend.”
- Project Management
“It had been quite some time since I last worked with this material consciously and actively. I was given a pleasant wake-up call and immediately received the right tools to press ahead. Really great!”
M. Timmermans - Gemeente Roosendaal- Project Management
"The Project Management course works perfectly well online: it gives a lot of insight into the process theories and methods. But it also leaves plenty of room to bring in your own practical questions and cases and discuss them with the group, which is why this course remained interesting throughout. The trainer has a great deal of practical experience and combined that well with the theory."
- Project Management
"A course I really got something out of, with a great trainer who teaches with passion and enthusiasm, creates variety and really knows what she is talking about!"
J. van Buuren, Leger des Heils- Project Management
“An enjoyable and above all instructive course with room for your own input and ideas. The participants and the learning objectives of the company concerned were listened to carefully.”
Nick van Oosten - Project Management
"The Project Management course I attended was extremely good: it was genuine training in working on a project basis and in setting up, controlling and managing projects. Because of the small number of participants, everyone had the opportunity to raise their practical questions and have them explained. What was covered in the course can be applied directly by me in practice. In short, this is not a course but training as training should be."
A. Sjauw, Gemeente Almere - Project Management
"Good training course covering the basics of project management. The material is put into practice straight away in your own project plan."
- Project Management
"An excellent course for conveying the basics of project management to your team members. It enables them to be self-starting in projects and to come up with a sound plan. They can also constructively and critically challenge others when they have a role other than that of project manager."
- Project management and leadership
“I learnt practical applications based on the theory.”
N. Wolf - Remark B.V. - Project Management
“A very instructive course that is also structured in a very practical way. Through practical examples and assignments you are shown the ropes of working on a project basis. Because I had a private course, I had the advantage that everything was tailored to my situation.”
S. Pruimboom, DSW Zorgverzekeraar- Project Management
"Excellent training course, excellent venue (Zwolle) and the trainer manages to discuss the core aspects of project management clearly in 3 days, but above all in an informal way. Theory and practice are well alternated through individual as well as group assignments. The group consisted of 3 participants, so you get a lot of personal attention. In addition, we came from completely different organisations, so you pick up a range of experiences. I am very satisfied with having taken this course!"
G. Keulen, SRAM Europe Sales & Services BV- Project Management
“This course has given me an enormous number of tools that I can use during my projects. I now look forward to coming projects with confidence.”
Trainer Learnit - Project Management
“A project may look complicated, but if you apply project management and work on a project basis it becomes a lot clearer. Suddenly, paths with benches appear in the forest. That makes the walk through a project a lot more enjoyable.”
Mirjam Zoomer, M. Zoomer- Projectmanagement
“The specialist trainer responds well to questions and points of confusion. The course material can be used well as a reference work. It is very positive that the trainer engages properly with practical examples from the group.”
K. van Rossenberg, ActiZ- Project Management
"The Project Management course is a course that gives you structure for both small and large projects. The tools on offer can be used straight away or are interesting to develop further. The diversity of the participants was also an instructive side benefit that worked out inspiringly and refreshingly, as we shared each other's experiences."
- Project Management
“I have rarely attended a course that was so engaging from the very first moment. Very clear, with plenty of tools to apply straight away. Recommended for beginning and experienced project leaders alike.”
W.H. Zoeten, Danielson Europe- Project Management
"I had not expected to get so much out of a course in as short a period as three days. I also more than achieved my personal learning objectives. The course tied in very well with practice, particularly because the trainer was able to respond to my own situation from his own experience. My new knowledge is not only immediately applicable, but also a sound basis for a follow-up course."
- Project Management
“I thought it was an enjoyable course in small groups at a good location and the trainer was highly competent. Excellent! Learned a lot.”
C. Conradus - VO-content- Project Management
“For anyone who wants to delve into project management, this course is a very good start.”
G.B. Wekking, Voith Paper BV - Project Management
“Enjoyable and interesting course. The material is not drummed into you but is presented in the right doses. The practical assignments were fun to do. I also thought it was good that the class is capped at 4 participants, which makes the most of the interaction between trainer and participant. That is what you come for, after all...!”
M.G. Zonneveld, Marco Zonneveld- Project Management
“Within a day I gained a lot of insight into my position within my team and the organisation. And on top of that, extra tools to fill in the reorganisation in a positive way. These 2 things mean that I go into the coming exciting period with a bit more calm and confidence.”
J. de Heij, Picturae- Project Management
“A good start for understanding project management, experiencing it and putting it into practice.”

J. Jansen-Faber, Hagaziekenhuis- Project Management
“A very complete course on how to approach projects. A good basis to get started with. Plenty of practical examples are used and the trainer tries to apply the material to your own working environment. It is not just theory; every day there are one or two practical assignments. You are in a small group, so there is a lot of personal attention. The participants come from a wide range of sectors, so the material is looked at from different perspectives, which is very enjoyable. All in all, recommended!”
