More and more work in less time? With our brain training course you make optimal use of your mental capacity. You learn faster, remember better and work more productively. The result: less stress, more energy and more enjoyment in your work.

Description

More and more is expected of you at work, and you have to process more information in less time. In this course you gain insight into how your brain works and learn how to make better use of your mental capacity. You will work with practical techniques that help you learn faster, process information more effectively and work with more focus and energy.

You work with mindmapping to structure complex information and increase your creativity. You are also given study techniques that allow you to learn faster in a relaxed way, improve your concentration and organise your workplace more effectively. You discover how your memory works and how to apply memory techniques to remember names, numbers and other information better. Finally, you work on speed reading, increasing your reading speed in a short time while maintaining a good understanding of the text.

The course alternates theory with exercises, reflection and experimenting with new behaviour. This way you experience the effect of the techniques directly and can apply what you have learned in your daily work straight away.

Topics

  • How your brain works and how to make better use of it
  • Mind mapping: structuring complex information, organising your thoughts and increasing creativity
  • Study Techniques: learn faster with better results, relaxed and with more concentration
  • Training your memory and applying memory techniques to names, numbers and facts
  • Speed reading: techniques to double your reading speed without losing comprehension
  • Processing information more effectively in a busy working environment
  • Practical adjustments to your workplace to work more productively
  • Maintaining motivation and focus, even with large volumes of information

Result

After this course you understand how your brain works and how to use it more intelligently at work. You process information faster, remember more and maintain your concentration for longer. You apply mindmapping to structure complex material, organise your thoughts and prepare presentations or projects. With memory techniques you effortlessly remember names, numbers and facts, and thanks to speed-reading techniques you double your reading speed without any loss of comprehension.

The result: you work more productively, with less stress and more energy. You get more done in the same amount of time and continue to enjoy your work, even as the flow of information keeps growing.

Target audience

This course is particularly suitable for managers and employees who have to process a great deal of information and need to acquire new knowledge quickly. Whether you work in an office environment, work hybrid or process a lot of digital information: you learn how to use your brain more effectively.

Teaching method

During the course you alternate between concrete experience, experimenting with behaviour and techniques, reflection and exploring theory. This means the programme suits different types of participants. There is plenty of action in the course, so that you actually experience the effect of new behaviour. That way you recognise your own success and see immediately what works.

We also emphasise that you are responsible for your own development and take ownership of it. We invite you to reflect continuously and to make connections with your own practice. Our aim is to increase your insight and to let you make the translation to your own situation. That increases the chance of genuine behavioural change.

Prior knowledge

No specific prior knowledge is required for this course. An open attitude and a willingness to experiment with new techniques are enough to take part and get the most out of the course.

"I was offered private training as an alternative to group training. That left plenty of room to address my own learning objectives. A very enjoyable and interesting course on how the brain works in relation to working and learning more efficiently. Definitely recommended!"

Participant

“Extremely practical course, which I found very useful. My thoughts are much better organised and I make better use of my memory through mindmapping. Speed reading is mainly a matter of practice, but the tools you are given certainly make it easier.”

What do I get from the classroom Brain Training that I cannot get from a book or YouTube video about speed reading and mindmapping?
The difference lies in practising under guidance and receiving immediate feedback. A book tells you how mind mapping or speed reading works. In the classroom course you apply the techniques straight away to your own work material and see what effect they have. You experiment with behaviour, reflect and link theory to your own practice. The trainer corrects your eye movements when speed reading, for example, or helps you structure a mind map for a current project. You also work in a group, which means you practise techniques on recognisable work situations. Self-study gives you knowledge. This course aims at changing behaviour. Choose self-study if you are looking for theoretical depth. Choose this course if you want to internalise concrete techniques. Course material is included.
How do I know whether this brain training course suits me, or would I be better off taking a time management course?
The choice depends on where your problem lies. A time management course focuses on planning, prioritising and managing your diary. This brain training focuses on the cognitive side: how your brain processes, retains and learns information. You are given four concrete techniques: mind mapping to structure information, speed reading to increase your reading speed, memory techniques for names and numbers, and study techniques for concentration and motivation. Choose brain training if you have a lot of reading to get through, need to absorb new knowledge quickly or have to remember complex information. Choose time management if you mainly struggle with your diary, deadlines and tasks. The course is classroom-based. No prior knowledge is required.
How quickly can I apply the techniques from this brain training course at work?
The techniques can be applied straight after the course day, but the returns grow with practice. Speed reading often produces a noticeable increase in your reading speed during the course itself. You can use the techniques you learn on emails and reports in the same week. You can apply mind mapping immediately when preparing a meeting or presentation. Memory techniques for names and numbers work from the first attempt, although they become stronger with repetition. Expect two to four weeks of consistent practice before the new behaviour becomes automatic. The course is classroom-based and contains plenty of hands-on exercises. As a result, the transfer to your workplace is considerably greater than with purely theoretical explanation.
What is the difference between this brain training course and a standalone speed reading or mind mapping course?
A standalone speed reading or mind mapping course focuses on a single technique. This brain training combines four areas: speed reading, mind mapping, memory techniques and study techniques/information processing, all based on one common foundation: how your brain works. So you don't just learn a trick; you gain insight into why a technique works and when to use which one. The practical difference: in a speed reading course you mainly practise reading speed. Here you link speed reading to mind mapping in order to structure the information you have read, and to memory techniques in order to retain it. Choose a specialist course if you want to develop one specific skill in depth. Choose this brain training if you want to work more productively with information across the board and make better use of your overall brain capacity.
Is this brain training scientifically grounded, or is it mainly about practical tricks?
The course combines both. You gain insight into how the brain works (attention, memory, information processing) and translate this directly into applicable techniques such as mind mapping, speed reading and memory techniques. The approach is practical and experience-based: during the course you experiment with new behaviour and reflect on its effect, rather than simply absorbing theory. Compared with a purely theoretical book on neuroscience, here you get concrete techniques you can apply tomorrow. Compared with a one-off 'lifehack' workshop, you also learn how the brain actually works, so you understand why a technique is effective. The course is classroom-based. No prior knowledge is required.
What happens to your brain when you train techniques like these, and does the effect last after the course day?
The techniques in this course (mind mapping, speed reading, memory techniques) build on the way your brain processes information: visually, associatively and in patterns. By actively engaging both hemispheres of the brain, you link new information to existing knowledge, which means you learn faster and remember better. The effect only lasts if you keep applying the techniques. As with a muscle, the gains disappear without repetition. That is why the course alternates between experiencing, experimenting and reflecting, so that you apply the techniques to your own work situation during the course day itself. Anyone who consciously uses the techniques in the first weeks after the course (for example by making one mind map a day or practising speed reading on work documents) turns them into a lasting way of working rather than a one-off experience.
