C is one of the most influential programming languages ever. Many modern languages such as C++, Java and C# have their roots in C. In this course you learn the basic techniques of programming in C and build a solid foundation. You get straight to work on practical assignments, so that you not only understand the theory but can also apply it. Whether you want to develop further as a developer or gain a better grasp of the fundamentals of programming: this course offers you a complete introduction to C.
On this C Programming Basics course you delve into the structure and workings of the C programming language. You start with the building blocks: variables, constants, data types, arrays and operators. You then learn how to control programs with conditional statements and loops.
Next, you work with functions, parameter passing, scope and recursion. Pointers are an important part of C. You learn what pointers are, how to use them and how they relate to arrays, strings and functions. Structures, unions and nested data types are also covered.
Finally, you work with the preprocessor, macros, the standard library, command line arguments, dynamic memory allocation and file I/O. Using demos and sample code, the trainer shows how the theory ties in with real-life situations. You will do a lot of practising yourself, so that you get to grips with what you have learned straight away. By the end of the course you will have a solid foundation on which to build your skills as a C programmer.
After completing this course you know the basic techniques of programming in C. You can independently write, debug and adapt smaller C programs. You understand how data types, control flow and functions work together and you know how to use pointers and structures for efficient code. You are also able to allocate memory dynamically and work with files. This gives you a solid basis for moving on to C++, embedded development or other C-related applications.
This course is intended for anyone who wants to master programming in C. Think of junior software developers, students, technicians and engineers who work with embedded systems, drivers or low-level software. The course is also suitable if you already have experience with other programming languages and want to extend your knowledge with C. The course is practice-oriented and suitable both for those returning to programming and for people who want to understand the fundamentals of programming through one of the most influential languages.
The course is classroom-based and strongly practice-oriented. The trainer covers the theory using demos and sample code, after which you immediately get to work on exercises yourself. This way you experience how C works and what the pitfalls are. In between there is plenty of room to ask questions and exchange experiences with the trainer and your fellow participants. The small groups ensure personal attention and an interactive atmosphere.
No specific prior knowledge is required to take part in this course. It is useful, however, to have a general understanding of programming concepts, for example through earlier experience with another programming language or an introductory programming course. That speeds up your learning process, but it is not a condition. An affinity with logical thinking and computers is important.
On completion of this training course you will receive the official "Programming in C" certificate from Learnit.
The training is given in Dutch as standard. The trainer has a good command of English. English-language course material can be used. With a minimum enrolment of 3 participants, the training can also be given entirely in English.
At Learnit you will always find a course that takes you further. From (technical) IT skills to communication or personal leadership. You can also choose the training format that suits you best: a classroom course, a tailor-made course at your own office, an online course or an e-learning. We have the right course and the right format for everyone. Because learning in the way that suits you best delivers the best results.
Personal attention and a pleasant atmosphere. Whether you take a course with us, at your office or on your own PC, we make sure you feel at home enough to push your boundaries.
New opportunities arise when you get moving. Stay sharp. Keep taking new steps. We encourage you to take the plunge and really go for it.
Discover something new. Build on your strengths. And choose your own path. We help you grow with training courses and learning formats that genuinely suit you.
We always think in terms of possibilities and win-win. And every day we work on new solutions for tomorrow. By offering training courses that leave you well prepared for the future.
We don't make empty promises. What we do offer is quality, knowledge and experience. A broad range of courses, made possible by our inspired staff and trainers.
We listen to what matters to you. To what you need. Because that is where our solution, our tailored approach, begins. Understanding each other properly and communicating clearly: that is what we believe in.
Taking a training course at Learnit means learning together. Together with your experienced trainer, together with your course group or together with your colleagues. And whether you take the training at home, at your office or at one of our training locations, we are always available to help you. To share our knowledge with you in a way that is genuinely useful to you. Getting further together through personal attention and understanding each other well; that is what we believe in.
Learning theory from a book that you can then hardly use in your work? Not at Learnit! Whichever training you take with us, you can put it to use at your workplace straight away. Because of the unique learning objectives you set together with the trainer at the start of the training. Because of the alternation between theory and (interactive) practical assignments. And by bringing the challenges you face in your daily work along to the training.
