Smarter delegating means more room for the bigger picture and motivated staff who grow. In this course you sharpen your delegation skills: which tasks do you hand over, to whom, and how do you keep a grip without doing the work yourself?
In this course you work on your skills for handing over tasks in a smart and effective way. You gain insight into how delegating fits your role, which tasks lend themselves to being handed over and who is best placed to take them on.
You will work on the balance between letting go and staying in control. This includes conversation techniques that make delegating run more smoothly, and you will learn how to formulate expectations clearly. You will also consider common pitfalls, so that you know how to avoid them in practice.
You will also be given tools to increase your colleagues' involvement. You practise sharing responsibility, assigning authority and following up on agreements, so that you keep a grip on the process without doing the work yourself.
During the Delegating course you work on the skills needed to hand over tasks effectively. You learn to choose which tasks lend themselves to delegation, how to select the right person and how to stay involved without taking over the work.
After this course you will recognise where new opportunities lie for your colleagues and know how to set clear expectations. You will find the right balance between keeping control and giving trust, and manage assertively and purposefully. That way you keep a grip on the process without doing the work yourself.
You have learned which tasks lend themselves to delegation and to whom they are best entrusted. You also have the conversation techniques to share responsibility, follow up on agreements made and keep your staff motivated.
This course is suitable for you if you find it difficult to hand over tasks, want to make better use of your employees' talents or want to create more room for yourself and your team. If you want to free up more time for your core tasks, you have also come to the right place.
You start with an intake interview, in which the trainer maps out your personal learning objectives together with you. The trainer then puts together the final programme on that basis, so that the course really matches your situation.
During the course you work in a small group of no more than eight participants. This creates a safe atmosphere in which you can practise new skills at your own pace. The emphasis is on doing and experiencing: you actively work with real-life situations, role plays and feedback from the trainer and your fellow participants.
Afterwards you receive the course material and a certificate of participation.
No specific prior knowledge is required for this course. It is useful, however, if your work involves tasks that you could (partly) hand over to colleagues or staff. That way you can apply what you have learnt directly to your own practice.
Would you like to organise this training for a whole group or several groups? This can be cost-effective. For example, we can tailor the content entirely to your organisation, and training a whole group is also cheaper.
Are you looking at large numbers of participants or a complete academy? That involves a great deal. Consider planning and communication, for example, or identifying and agreeing the objectives and content of the training. Or differences in level, feedback mechanisms and safeguarding. Fortunately, Learnit has extensive experience in this field (more than 25 years) and we are happy to help you through this process.
The training is given in Dutch as standard. The trainer has a good command of English. English-language course material can be used. With a minimum enrolment of 3 participants, the training can also be given entirely in English.
When would you like to start?
At Learnit you will always find a course that takes you further. From (technical) IT skills to communication or personal leadership. New opportunities arise when you get moving. Stay sharp. Keep taking new steps. We encourage you to take the plunge and really go for it.
Discover something new. Build on your strengths. And choose your own path. We help you grow with training courses and learning formats that genuinely suit you.
We always think in terms of possibilities and win-win. And every day we work on new solutions for tomorrow. By offering training courses that leave you well prepared for the future.
We don't make empty promises. What we do offer is quality, knowledge and experience. A broad range of courses, made possible by our inspired staff and trainers.
We listen to what matters to you. To what you need. Because that is where our solution, our tailored approach, begins. Understanding each other properly and communicating clearly: that is what we believe in.
Taking a training course at Learnit means learning together. Together with your experienced trainer, together with your course group or together with your colleagues. And whether you take the training at home, at your office or at one of our training locations, we are always available to help you. To share our knowledge with you in a way that is genuinely useful to you. Getting further together through personal attention and understanding each other well; that is what we believe in.
Learning theory from a book that you can then hardly use in your work? Not at Learnit! Whichever training you take with us, you can put it to use at your workplace straight away. Because of the unique learning objectives you set together with the trainer at the start of the training. Because of the alternation between theory and (interactive) practical assignments. And by bringing the challenges you face in your daily work along to the training.

"A course tailored to practice with a personal approach, so that the learning objectives were applied directly during the training. The theory requires patience, but applying it through role play and video recordings proved a good teacher. This was complemented by positive feedback from the trainer and the other participants. Well worth it."

"I experienced the Delegating course at Learnit as very positive. A major plus in my view is that the course was given to a small group of participants, which meant there was plenty of room to go into each participant's own cases from their working practice. The trainer prepared the course in a positive way, inspired the group and taught me an approach that is practical to apply. I am very satisfied with the communication with Learnit and the information I received from Learnit."
