Being a trainer takes more than subject knowledge. You need teaching skills, a style of your own and the ability to tune in to your group. In this programme you work on all of that over six months.
Good trainers make a connection, transfer knowledge and know how to get a group moving. That calls for teaching skills, self-knowledge and a well-stocked toolkit of working methods. In this programme you build these up step by step, taking your own practice as the starting point.
You gain a complete picture of your strengths as a trainer and where your pitfalls lie. You learn to prepare, structure and enliven training courses. You practise with creative working methods, get to grips with learning styles and learn how to deal with difficult questions and resistance. Online training is also covered, so you know how to keep remote groups engaged.
Between the blocks you work on assignments, e-learning and peer consultation. You have an online coaching session with your trainer and conclude the programme with a mini training course that you deliver yourself and reflect on with your group.
After this programme you have a personal and effective training style. You know your strengths and pitfalls, you prepare courses in a structured way and you effortlessly tailor your approach to the group. You apply creative working methods, deal smoothly with difficult questions and resistance, and deliver stimulating training courses both on site and online. You have delivered a mini training session yourself and you know how to keep learning from feedback.
This programme is for anyone who wants to develop as a trainer. Whether you are just starting out or already have some experience, you work on your own style and build a solid foundation. The programme suits people who want to specialise in a focused way without it becoming a full-time study.
The programme consists of three blocks of two course days, a webinar on online training and a follow-up day after two months. In addition, you work with assignments, e-learning, self-study and an online coaching session with your trainer. Together with a few fellow participants you form a peer review group to exchange experiences. You conclude with a mini training course that you deliver yourself and on which you reflect.
No prior knowledge is required. The programme is suitable for both new and experienced trainers.
Learning by doing. That is central to all our programmes. In a safe training atmosphere we practise realistic situations from your day-to-day work in small groups (max. 8 participants per course). The more questions and cases you bring in yourself, the more you will get out of the programme. This way you discover during the programme which training techniques and training formats suit you best, and you can develop your practical skills further straight away. Our trainers combine teaching skills with their practical experience.
The course is given in Dutch as standard. The trainer speaks English. English-language course materials can be used. If at least 3 participants register, the course can also be given entirely in English.
Would you like to organise this training for a whole group or several groups? This can be cost-effective. For example, we can tailor the content entirely to your organisation, and training a whole group is also cheaper.
Are you looking at large numbers of participants or a complete academy? That involves a great deal. Consider planning and communication, for example, or identifying and agreeing the objectives and content of the training. Or differences in level, feedback mechanisms and safeguarding. Fortunately, Learnit has extensive experience in this field (more than 25 years) and we are happy to help you through this process.

“I believe my team and I gained extremely valuable insight during the Train the Trainers session with the trainer.”
""Interesting course, practising with resistance was the most interesting part.""
“You will learn a lot practical things which will help you conduct your own training.”
“The course gave me plenty of ideas and insights into how I can improve my own training to fit different learning styles better, how to deal with 'difficult' participants and how to make sure the intended learning objectives really are achieved. Having made those improvements, I now also stand in front of the groups I train with more confidence.”
“The course not only provides a good basis for delivering training, but also useful recommendations for improving your own way of training.”
“If you are looking for something practical and applicable, learning from others, sharing with each other, tailored to your own learning needs and all in a pleasant atmosphere, then I can wholeheartedly recommend this course.”
"A training course to recommend to anyone who provides training or coaching to different target groups. The course draws attention to your own learning style and gives you something to hold on to through its working methods."
“Based on our experiences in a first course, we followed it up with this one. Trainer Carlijn Hoogeveen certainly lived up to our high expectations.”
“An intensive course in a relaxed atmosphere, where you learn a lot from yourself, your fellow participants and your trainer. All in all, a great success.”
"Good and effective course. Short and to the point. It points out mistakes and pitfalls and gives practical tips with areas for improvement. Recommended for anyone who delivers training."
“The way the trainer delivers her course is a course in itself. She gives so many examples herself, and her calm manner already provides you with plenty to work with. You learn a great deal from one another because you look together at each participant’s mini-training. That also gives you a lot of insight into yourself.”
“Inspiring course from a motivated and motivating trainer. Plenty of varied working methods keep you engaged, and you take useful reading material home with you. Highly recommended for both the beginning and the more advanced trainer!”
“Would you like feedback on the way you deliver a course to a group? Would you like to learn a wide range of new working methods? Would you like to know more about how best to sell a course to participants and organisations? Would you like to get more out of all your efforts as a trainer? Then the Train the Trainer course is for you!”
“A practical course covering all the important aspects of a good training course, and how you as a trainer go about delivering it. Setting up a course, activating working methods, the trainer's competencies: it is all covered. Engaging and instructive!”
“For us the 'Train the Trainer' course was a real eye-opener, even though we are already fairly experienced internally in organising and delivering training. The various delivery formats in particular are inspiring and make for an interactive, varied course that is genuinely useful in practice.”
“What I found very pleasant is that the trainer calls you beforehand to clarify your learning objectives and then keeps an eye on them throughout the course. In between all the content and practice, the trainer gives you plenty of room for reflection by building it into the working methods used during the course. That way you internalise the material while the course is still running.”
“Definitely a good addition to the training profession.”
“The Train the Trainer Follow-up course is also very instructive and, above all, enjoyable. I really had the feeling – again – that I was going home with something I can actually use!”
“The intensive course was held in a relaxed atmosphere and is suitable for both experienced and novice trainers. I learned a lot about myself and about the difference between giving a presentation and giving a training course. The course is easy to apply in practice.”

“Very positive! It gave me a lot of energy and I feel very inspired.”
“The role play in particular was quite surprising. Things I had been slightly apprehensive about beforehand went unnoticed by most of the other participants, while other things that you are sometimes unaware of did stand out.”
"Good course for developing yourself further as a trainer. Through practical exercises, hands-on experience and feedback moments, you learn a great deal in a short time."
“Excellent, well tailored after the intake to everyone's personal wishes and points for attention.”

Plenty of time for questions and answers, working through the assignments and interaction. There are certainly things that stick with you, which I can use when delivering courses myself."
“An excellent starter course for the profession of trainer!”
“The course offered me more (the self-reflection & tips) than I had expected beforehand.”

"'Marjorie is wonderful; she really gets you to step out of your comfort zone with the feeling that this is possible and appreciated.'"
“In 3 days I learned a great deal about acquiring, preparing and delivering a training course. By giving a presentation/mini training course myself straight away and receiving constructive feedback and advice on it, I now have a better idea of where my strengths lie and where I can improve.”
“An extremely pleasant course in which, in a good atmosphere and working with a knowledgeable, motivating trainer, you can achieve the goal(s) you set beforehand. All this in a highly varied programme with room for your own input.”
“The course gave me insight into the role of trainer in a clear and pleasant way. The theory was well alternated with practical exercises, so that what I learned could be applied immediately. The trainer is knowledgeable and managed to create a safe environment. He gave it a personal touch, which I appreciate! I found it valuable not only to learn tools and methods, but also to work with them myself and become aware of my style as a trainer. It was good that you receive feedback straight away, along with tips on how to improve. All in all an instructive and inspiring experience that has given me a good feeling about giving training courses in the future!”
“Extremely instructive course that is highly applicable in practice. A great trainer who conveyed the material enthusiastically and clearly. I thoroughly enjoyed these three days!”
"The course provides insight, both theoretically and directly in practice, into how to deliver good training. There is plenty of room to practise and to give and receive feedback. You learn a great deal, about structure as well as presentation, by reviewing video footage together. It is a small group, so there is a lot of individual attention. Everything is underpinned with theory by the trainer. The energy starts to flow. From now on our courses will look different, in terms of preparation and working methods, so that the content sticks better. In short: every trainer deserves this! Even if you have been doing it for years, it is illuminating and gives you plenty of new material."
“In this course, various perspectives and levels among the participants were combined. I think that is very impressive. It was done without shortchanging anyone. For me it was an excellent course, in which I certainly learned new skills that I will be using from now on in the courses I deliver myself. It can also be applied well to presentations. The trainer is knowledgeable and is good at motivating people. It is inspiring to be challenged to do something outside your usual approach. Don't try, just do it! is the motto. Using the video camera contributed to becoming more aware of how I come across to others. You do many things unconsciously. Good to have insight into that for once. I can certainly recommend this course to others!”
“Good course in a pleasant atmosphere. The theory is covered, but you also get the chance to do plenty of practical exercises. Your own learning objective is central throughout.”
“The course offers a good mix of theory on the one hand and experiencing and discovering things yourself on the other. The course is suitable both as a first introduction and as a way of refreshing experience gained earlier.”
“The Train the Trainer course gave me insight into my own style, blind spots and development opportunities. It offered a number of practical tips for structuring a course well, such as the slide and the staircase!”
“The 'train the trainer' course is highly recommended for people who want to become proficient in delivering education, training and practice activities. The course offers added value for beginners and experienced professionals alike. Partly thanks to the professionalism of the trainer, this course also contributes to your self-confidence and your motivation.”
