Enjoying your work is no coincidence. It is something you can strengthen by consciously steering on the right factors. In this course you discover how to increase workplace happiness, both for individuals and at organisational level.

Description

More and more organisations are investing in workplace happiness, because it has a direct effect on productivity, engagement and absenteeism. But how do you go about it in practice? This course answers that question.

You first look at the individual side: which characteristics and talents contribute to happiness at work, and how do you strengthen these in yourself and in colleagues? The focus then shifts to the organisation: which structures, habits and interventions make the difference?

You work with practical tools from positive psychology, practise with cases from your own working practice and go home with an approach you can apply immediately.

Topics

  • What workplace happiness is and why it matters
  • The factors behind workplace happiness in a team
  • Types of motivation and how to increase them
  • Working from talent and strength
  • Psychological capital: hope, optimism, self-confidence and resilience
  • Strengthening resilience and self-confidence in yourself and your team
  • Stress: how it arises and how to deal with it
  • Recognising and preventing burnout
  • Practical interventions at organisational level

Result

After this course you will know what happiness at work actually means and which factors influence it. You will be able to consciously make use of your own talents and characteristics and those of others, spot areas for improvement in your team and know how to address them. You will have a personal plan that you can put to use straight away in your own organisation.

Target audience

This course is intended for managers, HR professionals, team leaders, coaches and employees who want to increase workplace happiness in their organisation or team. No prior knowledge is required, but commitment to the subject is.

Teaching method

You alternate between experiencing, experimenting, reflecting and exploring theory. Thanks to the many active working methods, you notice the effect of new behaviour straight away. You work with cases from your own practice and link theory directly to recognisable situations. The trainer invites you to take ownership of your own development and to translate what you learn to your work.

Prior knowledge

No specific prior knowledge is required. An open attitude and a willingness to reflect on your own work situation will help you get the most out of the course.

In-company

Would you like to organise this training for a whole group or several groups? This can be cost-effective. For example, we can tailor the content entirely to your organisation, and training a whole group is also cheaper.

Are you looking at large numbers of participants or a complete academy? That involves a great deal. Consider planning and communication, for example, or identifying and agreeing the objectives and content of the training. Or differences in level, feedback mechanisms and safeguarding. Fortunately, Learnit has extensive experience in this field (more than 25 years) and we are happy to help you through this process.

Workplace happiness is the extent to which you feel comfortable, motivated and usefully occupied in your work. It is determined by factors such as autonomy, connection, competence, meaning and the match between your talents and your tasks. Workplace happiness is not the same as being constantly happy; it is about lasting satisfaction and resilience.

Workplace happiness is directly linked to productivity, creativity, engagement and lower absenteeism. Employees who feel valued and motivated perform better and stay with their employer for longer. Investing in workplace happiness is therefore both a human and a strategic choice.

Psychological capital consists of four characteristics: hope, optimism, self-confidence and resilience. You increase it by consciously celebrating successes, setting realistic goals, learning from setbacks and letting people work from their strengths. During the course you practise concrete techniques for developing this capital.

You prevent burnout by recognising early signals, monitoring healthy workloads and recovery moments, strengthening autonomy and sense of purpose, and talking openly about how work is experienced. Managers play a key role in identifying overload and making it discussable.

Intrinsic motivation comes from within: you do something because you find it valuable, enjoyable or meaningful yourself. Extrinsic motivation comes from outside, for example through reward, status or pressure. Lasting workplace happiness rests mainly on intrinsic motivation, because it does not depend on external incentives.
