The first part focuses on positioning, communication, managing behaviour and results, feedback and delegation. That is sufficient for anyone mainly looking for structure and clarity in the management role. The Coaching Leadership component adds something different: listening at different levels, probing questions, the structure of a coaching conversation and increasing ownership among staff. Choose the full programme if you find that directing alone does not work, but neither does letting go, and you want to switch between both roles. If you have been a manager for some time and have solid foundations, you can also join Coaching Leadership directly.

What does this programme give me that I cannot learn from a book or an online course on coaching leadership?

The difference lies in practising your own behaviour with guidance. Books and e-learning explain models, but they do not give you feedback on how you come across in a difficult conversation. In this classroom programme you work with recognisable real-life situations and cases from your own team. You practise skills such as listening at different levels, probing, summarising, using silence and confronting with respect. A trainer and fellow participants mirror your behaviour and its effect. You also gain insight into patterns such as your tendency to rescue, which you rarely discover through self-study. You can read theory, but conversation skills and positioning are developed by doing, reflecting and adjusting. If you want to change your behaviour and not just increase your knowledge, classroom learning is more effective.
