View the AI in the Workplace course All AI courses →Almost every department is already working with AI, whether that has been agreed or not. One person has an email rewritten, someone else pastes a report into a chat window to get a summary out of it. That saves time, and sometimes it also creates a problem: a client name that ends up with a supplier, an amount that turns out to be invented, a letter that nobody has checked. The question is no longer whether your organisation uses AI, but what for, with which information, and under whose agreement.
This free online course is the starter for our full AI in the workplace. In four chapters you will learn what AI is and is not suitable for, what information you may and may not put into it, how to assess what comes out, and how to make agreements with your team that hold up. So it is not about the buttons of a particular program, but about the work around it. Each chapter ends with a short knowledge check.
The full course goes on to cover smart prompting, writing and summarising texts, emails and reports, AI in the software you already have open, AI as a thinking partner and introducing a standard way of working step by step. Would you like to do those chapters with an experienced trainer alongside you, and with your own documents on the table? Then take a look at the AI in the workplace course.

IntroductionHow this free course is structured and what you learn in the four chapters.
1.-
What AI is and isn't good forWhat a language model does well and where it systematically stumbles, the three roles in the office and the intern rule of thumb.
2.-
What you may and may not shareThe four types of information, the difference between a free and a business tool, and anonymising as an interim solution.
3.-
Assessing what comes outRecognising hallucinations and bias, and the five checks you carry out before you send anything on.
4.-
Making agreements with your teamFrom quiet use to a shared working method: six questions, the conversation in the team meeting and agreements on a single sheet of A4.
5.-
Smart promptingThe structure of a good prompt, techniques that improve the answer and the mistakes everyone makes.
6.-
Writing and summarising textsHaving drafts written, sharpening up existing text and reducing long pieces to their essentials.
7.-
Emails, reports and minutesFormulating more quickly without losing your own tone, and bringing structure to reports and minutes.
8.-
AI in your everyday office softwareWhat it means when the assistant in your word processor, email programme and spreadsheet looks over your shoulder.
9.-
AI as a thinking partnerOrganising information, creating step-by-step plans and checklists, and casting ideas widely and then sharpening them up again.
10.-
The assistants side by sideHow the common assistants differ from one another and how to choose the one that suits your organisation.
11.-
From one-off trial to standard practiceSetting up a trial, measuring the return, bringing colleagues along and keeping the use of it alive.
That is the difference with a pdf: there is someone standing in front of the class who answers your questions and thinks along with your own situation.
I found the 'Interview Techniques' course to be good. Nothing to fault. It was also good that Job called beforehand for a short preliminary discussion. You don't see that very often. A very worthwhile course. It also had a strong element of repetition. Plenty of variety, including between theory and practice. Learned a lot, and applied it straight away during the course. And I think these learnings will also help me further when conducting interviews.
We took the Outlook, Teams and OneNote course with Roy Nieuwenhuijzen. Good content, and a few days before the course he got in touch with me (coordinator of the course, head of the secretariat). Pleasant that you can fill in the day itself as needed. The booklet for reference is rather dated, but apparently there is little up-to-date material to be found.
In May 2024 I took the WordPress course. As an IT enthusiast with broad but not necessarily deep knowledge, I wanted to know more about WordPress. How do you install everything and how do you start building a website. This course is extremely well suited to that. From the outset you learn in 3 days how to start a website and what to look out for. I now have a solid basis for getting to work with WordPress and I know my way around the various options. The course is recommended for anyone who wants to learn in three days what WordPress can do and how to apply it.
