Giving feedback sometimes feels uncomfortable, but it is a powerful means of growth and collaboration. In this course you work on giving and receiving constructive feedback, so that you create an open communication climate in which colleagues really start to move.
Giving feedback is often avoided for fear of coming across as hurtful. As a result, a valuable steering instrument goes unused, while a well-delivered message is precisely what prompts growth and change.
On this two-day course you learn how to give and receive feedback constructively. You practise with communication processes, questioning techniques and recognising non-verbal, paralinguistic and verbal behaviour. You also work on listening, summarising and asking follow-up questions, and on dealing with emotions and difficult situations using methods such as REBT.
You work in a small group of no more than eight participants, so there is ample room to practise with real-life situations. Through an intake, the trainer tailors the programme to your personal learning objectives. Afterwards you will know how to create an open communication climate in which feedback contributes to better collaboration and motivation.
During the training course, subjects covered include:
After this course you know how to give feedback constructively, without your message unintentionally coming across as hurtful. You have experienced for yourself what influence the way you communicate has on the recipient, and you know how to ask for and receive feedback yourself.
You know the difference between feedback, criticism and advice, and you have been given practical tools for responding to emotions and tensions. This allows you to create an open communication climate in which colleagues and staff stay motivated and feel free to address one another.
This training course is suitable for anyone who wants to learn how to give and receive feedback. Whether you want to create a more open communication climate within your team, adjust the behaviour of colleagues or staff, or motivate the people around you more in their work: you will gain practical tools you can apply straight away.
You don't need to be a manager to take part. As a professional who works with others on projects, you will also get a great deal out of this course.
During this course you work in a small group of no more than eight participants, so there is room for personal attention and practice. Before the course you have an intake meeting with the trainer, in which you discuss your learning objectives and situations from practice, after which the programme is tailored to your needs.
The course has an active set-up: you learn mainly by doing and experiencing. Through practical exercises, role plays and immediate feedback, you work on situations you recognise from your own job. The trainer creates a safe atmosphere, so that you can freely experiment with new behaviour and new conversation techniques.
Afterwards you will receive a certificate of participation.
No specific prior knowledge is required for this course. An open attitude and a willingness to practise both giving and receiving feedback are enough to take full part.
None in particular.
Would you like to organise this training for a whole group or several groups? This can be cost-effective. For example, we can tailor the content entirely to your organisation, and training a whole group is also cheaper.
Are you looking at large numbers of participants or a complete academy? That involves a great deal. Consider planning and communication, for example, or identifying and agreeing the objectives and content of the training. Or differences in level, feedback mechanisms and safeguarding. Fortunately, Learnit has extensive experience in this field (more than 25 years) and we are happy to help you through this process.
The training is given in Dutch as standard. The trainer has a good command of English. English-language course material can be used. With a minimum enrolment of 3 participants, the training can also be given entirely in English.
When would you like to start?

Discover something new. Build on your strengths. And choose your own path. We help you grow with training courses and learning formats that genuinely suit you.
We always think in terms of possibilities and win-win. And every day we work on new solutions for tomorrow. By offering training courses that leave you well prepared for the future.
We don't make empty promises. What we do offer is quality, knowledge and experience. A broad range of courses, made possible by our inspired staff and trainers.
We listen to what matters to you. To what you need. Because that is where our solution, our tailored approach, begins. Understanding each other properly and communicating clearly: that is what we believe in.
Taking a training course at Learnit means learning together. Together with your experienced trainer, together with your course group or together with your colleagues. And whether you take the training at home, at your office or at one of our training locations, we are always available to help you. To share our knowledge with you in a way that is genuinely useful to you. Getting further together through personal attention and understanding each other well; that is what we believe in.
Learning theory from a book that you can then hardly use in your work? Not at Learnit! Whichever training you take with us, you can put it to use at your workplace straight away. Because of the unique learning objectives you set together with the trainer at the start of the training. Because of the alternation between theory and (interactive) practical assignments. And by bringing the challenges you face in your daily work along to the training.
No suitable start date? Send us a date request. Then we will look together at how we can still meet your training needs.
