Many people live on autopilot, with their thoughts darting back and forth between yesterday and tomorrow. With mindfulness you return to the here and now, and experience what that does for your calm, focus and well-being.
Brooding over what was or what is to come, while the present slips past you. It is a pattern almost everyone recognises. Mindfulness offers you a way to break that pattern and to give conscious attention to what is happening in this moment, around you and within you.
The course is based on the ideas of Jon Kabat-Zinn, professor at the University of Massachusetts. He developed a method that helps people deal with stress, anxiety, pain and illness. You work with forms of meditation, concentration exercises and practical assignments that you can apply directly in your daily life.
You learn to observe your thoughts and feelings without immediately judging them. That creates space. Space for calm, for better concentration, and for more conscious choices at work and at home.
After the course you will be able to give more conscious attention to the present moment and to observe your thoughts and feelings without immediately judging them. You will have practical meditation and attention techniques at your disposal to deal with stress better, and you will experience more inner calm, better concentration and a clearer sense of what you need in order to live attentively.
This course is intended for anyone suffering from stress, the early signs of burnout, or the feeling of living on autopilot. If you are wrestling with questions about life, worry a great deal, or simply want more calm and focus in a busy existence, this course offers you tools for living more consciously and with greater attention.
You alternate between experiencing, practising, reflecting and exploring theory. By practising actively you notice in practice what new behaviour does to you and recognise the effect immediately. Your trainer continually invites you to reflect and make connections with your own situation. In this way you increase your insight and make the translation to your daily life yourself, which considerably increases the chance of lasting change.
No prior knowledge is required for this course. An open attitude and a willingness to practise are enough.
Would you like to organise this training for a whole group or several groups? This can be cost-effective. For example, we can tailor the content entirely to your organisation, and training a whole group is also cheaper.
Are you looking at large numbers of participants or a complete academy? That involves a great deal. Consider planning and communication, for example, or identifying and agreeing the objectives and content of the training. Or differences in level, feedback mechanisms and safeguarding. Fortunately, Learnit has extensive experience in this field (more than 25 years) and we are happy to help you through this process.
The training is given in Dutch as standard. The trainer has a good command of English. English-language course material can be used. With a minimum enrolment of 3 participants, the training can also be given entirely in English.
At Learnit you will always find a course that takes you further. From (technical) IT skills to communication or personal leadership. You can also choose the training format that suits you best: a classroom course, a tailor-made course at your own office, an online course or an e-learning. We have the right course and the right format for everyone. Because learning in the way that suits you best delivers the best results.

Discover something new. Build on your strengths. And choose your own path. We help you grow with training courses and learning formats that genuinely suit you.
We always think in terms of possibilities and win-win. And every day we work on new solutions for tomorrow. By offering training courses that leave you well prepared for the future.
We don't make empty promises. What we do offer is quality, knowledge and experience. A broad range of courses, made possible by our inspired staff and trainers.
We listen to what matters to you. To what you need. Because that is where our solution, our tailored approach, begins. Understanding each other properly and communicating clearly: that is what we believe in.
Taking a training course at Learnit means learning together. Together with your experienced trainer, together with your course group or together with your colleagues. And whether you take the training at home, at your office or at one of our training locations, we are always available to help you. To share our knowledge with you in a way that is genuinely useful to you. Getting further together through personal attention and understanding each other well; that is what we believe in.
Learning theory from a book that you can then hardly use in your work? Not at Learnit! Whichever training you take with us, you can put it to use at your workplace straight away. Because of the unique learning objectives you set together with the trainer at the start of the training. Because of the alternation between theory and (interactive) practical assignments. And by bringing the challenges you face in your daily work along to the training.
No suitable start date? Send us a date request. Then we will look together at how we can still meet your training needs.

“As far as I am concerned, this was a tailor-made course. The objectives were properly mapped out beforehand and all of them were more than achieved. The balance between theory and exercises was excellent, as was the way the two alternated.”

Yes, mindfulness is a proven effective method for dealing with stress better. By paying conscious attention to what you feel and think, you learn to recognise signs of overload sooner and to respond more consciously instead of automatically pressing on.
Yes, after completing the course you receive a Learnit certificate of attendance. This confirms that you have taken the course.
Meditation is an exercise in which you train your attention, often in a quiet setting. Mindfulness is a broader attitude of paying conscious and open attention to everything you do and experience, including during daily activities such as working, eating or holding a conversation. Meditation is an important aid in this.
During the course you practise short moments of attention that you can easily build into your working day. Think of breathing consciously before a meeting, listening with full attention in a conversation, or pausing between tasks to clear your head. This stops you racing along on autopilot and helps you preserve focus and energy.
Yes, Jon Kabat-Zinn's method (Mindfulness-Based Stress Reduction) has been extensively researched since the 1980s. Studies show positive effects on stress, anxiety, concentration and well-being. Learnit's course is based on this evidence-based body of thought.
Yes, the course can be booked in-company for teams or organisations that want to help their staff deal better with workload and stress. We tailor the programme to the situation and learning objectives of your organisation. Get in touch to discuss the options.
Mindfulness works best if you practise regularly. Allow around fifteen to thirty minutes a day for the exercises you are given during the course. The more often you practise, the sooner you will notice the effects in your daily life.
