Would you like to sell with more enjoyment, confidence and results? In this two-day course you work on your sales techniques, conversation skills and presentation. You apply it directly to your own practice and achieve visibly better sales results.

Description

Good selling is vital to your organisation. Clients want to be heard and seen and are looking for someone who shows interest, listens to their challenges and thinks along towards a suitable solution. If you can do that, you are already very close to being a good salesperson.

In this two-day course you work on the most important aspects of selling. You work on your sales plan, your conversation, questioning and listening techniques, and on the way you present yourself, your organisation and your product. You also learn how to deal with objections, reservations and complaints, how to recognise buying signals and how to close a conversation convincingly. Aftercare and building long-term client relationships are covered as well.

You apply everything directly to your own work situation and receive constructive feedback and practical tips. Whether you are an experienced or a beginner salesperson, your sales skills will visibly improve.

Topics

During this two-day course you work on the skills you need to sell with more confidence and better results. The following topics are covered:

Business planning

  • The structure of a strong sales plan and what yours could look like
  • The collaboration between (online) marketing and sales to increase joint success
  • Who to approach within the client organisation: the various DMUs and the issues that matter to them
  • What information you want from a client, why that matters and how to find it out

Conversation skills

  • The communication model: influencing people in a positive way
  • Sales methods that make customers glad to see you
  • Conversation techniques: entering every conversation with confidence and concluding it successfully
  • Questioning techniques: asking the right questions at the right moment
  • Listening techniques: really listening, so that the real question behind the question comes out into the open

Presenting yourself, your organisation and your product

  • Packaging your message so that the client immediately sees the benefit
  • Putting your sales arguments in the right order for maximum impact
  • Dealing effectively with objections and reservations
  • Using complaints as an opportunity to deliver extra value
  • Coming across as convincing and reliable
  • Generating a need to buy
  • Responding to buying signals

Closing the sale and after-sales care

  • From conviction to order
  • Adding strategic value to long-term client relationships

Result

After this two-day course you will stand stronger in your sales conversations. You know how to build a sales plan, who to approach within a client organisation and how to get the right information on the table. You ask sharper questions, listen better and recognise what the client really needs.

You present yourself, your organisation and your product in a way that matches the client. You deal convincingly with objections, recognise buying signals and know how to turn a conversation into an order. Even after the deal has been signed, you know how to remain valuable to your client, so that you build lasting client relationships.

Whether you are a novice or an experienced salesperson: you will notice straight away that your sales skills have visibly improved and that you sell with more enjoyment, confidence and results.

Target audience

This course is ideally suited to account managers, sales staff and marketers involved in selling. If you regularly carry out acquisition or hold client conversations from another role, you will also be in the right place. Whether you are just starting out or have years of experience: you will take your sales skills to a higher level.

Teaching method

The content of the course may vary slightly from group to group, because at Learnit we think in terms of tailored solutions: your own working situation is always the starting point and the end point. Before the course you have an intake interview in which your learning objectives are identified. On that basis the trainer determines the final programme.

Learning by doing comes first. You practise with recognisable sales situations from your own work, receive direct feedback from the trainer and the other participants, and alternate theory with role plays and practical assignments. This asks for active involvement and ownership on your part; in return, you discover and develop skills with which you achieve results immediately after the course.

Prior knowledge

You don't need any specific prior knowledge for this course. Whether you are just starting out in sales or already have years of experience, you can join straight away. It does help if you are open to working with your own work situations.

In-company

Would you like to organise this training for a whole group or several groups? This can be cost-effective. For example, we can tailor the content entirely to your organisation, and training a whole group is also cheaper.

Are you looking at large numbers of participants or a complete academy? That involves a great deal. Consider planning and communication, for example, or identifying and agreeing the objectives and content of the training. Or differences in level, feedback mechanisms and safeguarding. Fortunately, Learnit has extensive experience in this field (more than 25 years) and we are happy to help you through this process.

  • “This course really got me off to a good start! I have even already applied what I learned in practice!”

Ingrid Haagensen, CAOP- Sales: Selling with Results!

  • “The theory is explained clearly to the participants with examples from practice. The participants' experiences are listened to carefully, and tips are given – with an emphasis on personal characteristics – for resolving or handling situations better in the future.”

R.V. Noordermeer, GCE Cad-service - Sales: selling with results!

  • “I would certainly recommend this course. The course is tailored very well to your specific learning objectives, which you discuss with the trainer beforehand. Theory and exercises are matched to your own situation, which means you end up with a great deal of practically applicable knowledge that really moves you forward. The atmosphere during the course was very good too; the trainer has an infectious enthusiasm and puts a lot of attention into preparing each training day.”

    R. Goudsmit - Sales: Selling with Results!

  • “This really is a good course for learning how to use the tools properly in sales conversations. It is suitable for both novice and experienced sales staff.”

    D. de Groot - Sales: Selling with Results!
    Rating 8.4
  • “The content of the course covered every aspect of acquisition. From cold calling for an appointment to closing an acquisition process or conversation. I liked that, because I wanted to leave it to the trainer to assess where my greatest opportunities for improvement lie. The trainer clearly has experience in this field. This was evident from the ease with which she talks about it and the countless examples she is able to produce. These examples were very well tailored to the practical questions and cases that were put forward. Faced with a critical audience, she put 'listening carefully', 'asking (follow-up) questions' and 'dealing with objections' into practice in a way that I found very inspiring. I always find that kind of congruence in a course extremely convincing, and I therefore see it as a great strength of the trainer.”

    G. de Boer, ORTEC- Sales: Selling with Results!
    Rating 9.6
  • “A very clear course about communication in sales that is certainly going to help me!”

    F. van Avendonk - Van Ham Tenten & Podia B.V.- Sales: Selling with Results!

  • “The trainer is good at putting himself in the participant's shoes and responds well to that. There is a programme, but it can be deviated from. On top of that, the trainer surprises you with a little something extra.”

    K. Sweringa, NUON - Sales: Selling with Results!
    Rating 8.8
  • “I am very satisfied with the content of the course. The course material was well matched to the participants and there was plenty of variety. It was also very instructive to watch the role plays back (they were recorded) and to be held up a mirror in that way.”

    J. Braakhekke, Checkpoint Systems- Sales: Selling with Results!
    Rating 8.0
  • “I would recommend this course to anyone who wants to develop personally. It is not only about selling, but also about self-reflection and how you come across to your audience. By recognising your own pitfalls and focusing on what you are good at, you learn to get the best out of yourself.”

    S. Faber - Sales: Selling with Results!
    Rating 8.8
  • "The content of the course was perfect. The course material was not used much in terms of content, but it is good for reference. The assignments and exercises are impressive, and sometimes confronting too. It was and is clear that the trainer is highly experienced and also knows how to get the material across well and with enthusiasm."

  • “A superb course. Very personal, and our trainer was great too. It was already of great use in the first week back at work.”

    J. Ton, Caravancentrum Stekelbos - Sales: selling with results!
    Rating 8.6
  • “I found the course a very pleasant experience. The trainer and I connected well. Her experience means she knows what she is talking about, she conveys it well and she is able to put herself in my situation. The combination of course materials, the trainer's presentation and the reading book works very well. The balance between theory and practice (exercises) also works very well. All of this at a functional location – it was very pleasant to look back on.”

Nico Hendrix, Stork Nederland B.V.- Sales: Selling with Results!
    Rating 9.0
  • “Very instructive and opens your eyes to a new approach to sales.”

  • “The content of the course matched my learning objectives and expectations very well. It was explained clearly in advance what we would be doing from day to day, and this was all delivered as promised. The assignments and exercises were set up in such a way that they can be applied directly in practice with your own product. What appealed to me about the trainer is that he comes from the field himself. He understands very well what difficulties can arise around sales conversations and so on. The trainer is an energetic, enthusiastic person who knows how to motivate through encouragement and by taking away personal insecurities.”

Frequently asked questions

The course is suitable for account managers, marketing staff and anyone whose work involves acquisition or customer contact. Both novice and experienced salespeople can take part, as the programme is tailored to your personal learning objectives through an intake beforehand. No prior knowledge is required, so you can start at the level that suits you.

No, no prior knowledge is required for the sales course 'Sales: selling with results'. This classroom course is suitable for both novice and experienced salespeople. Beforehand, an individual intake takes place in which your learning objectives and working practice are discussed. On that basis, the trainer tailors the programme to your level and working situation.

The course 'Sales: selling with results' is taught in a classroom setting, with an individual intake beforehand. During the intake your learning objectives are mapped out, so that the programme matches your own working situation. In the classroom you work in a small group on sales techniques, practise conversations and receive direct feedback from an experienced trainer. Learning by doing is central.

Yes, after completing the 'Sales: Selling with Results' course you receive a certificate of participation from Learnit. This certificate confirms that you took an active part in the course and practised the sales skills, conversation techniques and presentation techniques covered. The classroom course is suitable for both beginner and experienced salespeople.

A classroom sales course adds value when you want to develop skills that you can only learn by practising and receiving feedback. Think of questioning techniques, listening at the right level, dealing with objections and generating a desire to buy. Self-study or e-learning works well for knowledge, but not for behaviour in real sales conversations. On Learnit's Sales: Selling with Results course you practise with your own work situations and receive direct, constructive feedback from a trainer and fellow participants. An intake takes place beforehand, in which your learning objectives are identified and the programme is tailored accordingly. Choose classroom training if you want to perform demonstrably better in customer conversations; choose self-study if you mainly want to gain theoretical knowledge about sales methods.

The difference lies in practising with feedback on your own client situations. A book or e-learning explains the theory of questioning techniques, dealing with objections and creating a need to buy, but you get no response to how you do it. In this course you bring in your own cases: a difficult acquisition conversation, a deal that stalls, a client who drops out over price. The trainer and fellow participants act out those situations and give constructive feedback on the structure of your conversation, your listening behaviour and the order of your arguments. Beforehand there is an individual intake in which your learning objectives are recorded; the programme is adapted accordingly. You also work on your sales plan, DMU analysis and the alignment between marketing and sales. Self-study is a lighter investment, but a classroom course works better if you want to change behaviour.

The 'Sales: selling with results' training course is suitable for both novice and experienced salespeople. For experienced salespeople, the course mainly works as a fine-tuning exercise: you test your current approach against proven methods such as the communication model, questioning and listening techniques, and dealing with objections. In the individual intake beforehand, you and the trainer determine which learning objectives are relevant to your situation, after which the programme is tailored accordingly. You practise with your own real-life cases and receive direct feedback from the trainer and fellow participants. The course is taught in a classroom setting. Don't choose this course if: you mainly need cold-calling scripts or CRM training. Do choose this course if: you want to sharpen your conversation skills, customer analysis (DMUs) and closing techniques.

You apply it straight away, because the course is built around your own practical situations. During the intake beforehand you submit concrete cases: a deal in progress, a difficult client, a sales plan that needs improving. On day 1 you practise conversation, questioning and listening techniques on those cases and receive feedback. Between day 1 and day 2 you try them out in your actual work. On day 2 you discuss what worked and what did not, and refine your approach. As a result, at the end you take away not theory but techniques that work: dealing with objections, recognising buying signals, and moving from persuasion to order. Expect a visible effect within a few weeks, provided you continue to apply the techniques consistently.

The Learnit course 'Sales: Selling with Results' is methodology-independent and covers the entire sales cycle: business planning, DMU analysis, conversation and questioning techniques, dealing with objections, recognising buying signals, closing and follow-up. Courses built around a single methodology (SPIN, Challenger, Sandler, MEDDIC) go into one framework in more depth, but leave other elements aside. This classroom-based course works with participants' own real-life situations, established in an individual intake beforehand. That makes the course more broadly applicable to both B2B and B2C sales and suitable for account managers, marketing staff and acquisition specialists. Choose a methodology-specific course if your organisation already works with SPIN or Challenger; choose this course if you want to sharpen up your entire sales process.

Learnit's 'Sales: selling with results' course is a broad course covering the complete sales cycle: from business planning and DMU analysis to conducting conversations, presenting your product and organisation, dealing with objections, closing the sale and aftercare. A course focused purely on cold calling or telephone acquisition mainly covers the opening conversation, scripts and breaking through resistance on the phone. Choose this Learnit course if you want to strengthen your entire sales process, including customer relationship management and long-term strategic value. Choose an acquisition course if you specifically want to get more appointments out of cold lists. The Learnit course does cover acquisition as one element (approaching DMUs, questioning techniques), but not as its main focus.
